I have had a fully decrated Large house for a very loing time.
A long while back i got a table stuck in a stairwell. I tried everything to get it out... /target wouldent help cause there were a lot of other things in the house which would be taken instead.
I know there is the command to get lost items, but i was not interested in rearranging my entire house.
Recently i saw someone mention that you could infact get the entire houses content displayed like in an inventory window.
Here is how i did it:
1. Get an empty backpack.
2. Stand in house
3. Have backpack in inventory.
4. Select drop from the radial menu on the backpack from inventory
5. QUICKLY double click the backpack from inventory to get its contents displayed
6. In the lower left corner is an icon of a backpack. This will usually take you up one level in the inventory, ie. take you to the main inventory.
7. Press the little green triangle and you are in the Houses inventory. That is a listing of everything which is in that room of the house.
The house is constructed from a set of zones, each zone has its own set of items, if you dont find the hidden item in one room then try an adjacent one.
My problem was that i had one "Small Modern End Table" stuck in the stairs, but i had a lot of other "Small Modern End Tables" in the room which i didnt want rearranged.
I checked the serial of all the visible tables and the last one was my stuck item.
This has helped me greatly, and i hope it will help you too.
PS: You have to drag the item you need from the "house inventory" on to the bag you just dropped to get it out.

nice thread. I was going to suggest turn on all item names then you can stand next to it it and zoom in so that nothing else is in line of view from it then do /target itemname and it will target it. but I like the backpack thing, you can see exactly what is around you if you wanna find something specific.

Amazing trick!
I wonder why we can't just have access to the house inventory? Probably because of the zones, and SOE does not want to expose howthe house inventory isimplemented.

You won't be able to do the click timing thing quickly in step 5, especially if you lag. So this is an alternate way you can do it.
Instead do this:
1. In your inventory put an empty back pack. (1st window)
2. Open another pack/bandoleer that you have equiped. This will open another window(2nd window)
3. 2nd window-click on the pack icon on the lower left. This brings back your original inventory.
4. 2nd window-open the empty back pack.
5. 1st window-drop the empty back pack.
6. 2nd window-click on the pack icon on the lower left. This will bring up house inventory.
I do it this way so I don't have to get the timing right when clicking the "dropped" pack to pull up house inventory
