Thread: Question on using taxes to force people out
just don't resort to anything illegal, mmk?
well I declared residence and tried to run for mayor, except the few 14 rallied to vote for the other guy, I am now thinking to have freinds set up houses outside the city, so if it does level up they can declare, vote for me, then I can remove the city, I think that is legal, as it stands now, I doubt that city can grow to level 2, becuase my harvestors are in the way ![]()
I am thinking of asking 5 mil per harvestor, I did turn down a premimum pearl, so I know they want me to move pretty bad ![]()

They should of tyoldya that a city was goona be there. in my books there is no eniment domain in SWG. so rock on man.
I been there for months, they thought I was a temp harvestors, when I told them I hate surveying and its my farm, storage and work area for crafting, I was told that they have the right to make a city and I need to move, I was like wtfh, its cool, my price for removing the harvestors from the city is 1 ADK, now if the ywant me to remove the harvestors that sit outside the city as well, thats another ADK and 500k for each structure.
Or I just stay there adding structures outside there lines, I still have 7 more lots, and factories are only 1 lot ![]()
While I can understand your situation as a Mayor on Tatooine I ran into the same thing where when our city grew we sucked in other players housing. The issue is that there are just so many spots you can actually find now to have a city with an ability to expand mainly because of ghost houses or dead cities which will not be resolved until there is a planet purge. This hinders us Mayors and forming new cities so we often must resort to asking players with existing structures to either join our city or to kindly move. Granted having an established business such as yours makes this a more difficult situation. You are left with a few options:
1) You can remain and try to fight it out but frankly what is the point? Your only going to cause stress on yourself or it could become something more annoying into continual harassment. You are known for being a mature player so why lower yourself into a childish battle?
2) You can chat with the mayor and opt to join the city thereby enhancing their numbers and perhaps even gaining more customers from the city itself. Again this depends upon how comfortable the Mayor makes you feel and frankly the Mayor should be willing to make some form of arrangement with you to entice you to stay. If not.. it isn’t worth your time.
3) You can move. Now while this option might seem a bit scary because your business is established understand that customers "Will" come to you regardless of location. Simply gather your customer mailing list and send out move notices with a waypoint to your new shop spot.
But, once more, from a Mayor standpoint understand that Naboo is much like Tatooine. It is over grown with cities that are not fully active and when you opt to create a new one you are already in a battle with the planet layout, city caps and numerous player houses that are not used. This can be overly frustrating because a new Mayor wants to be able to provide for their citizens the best possible city ranking and layout that they can achieve. Sometimes we run into issues where we simply have to ask players to move their factories and harvesters so that the city can grow. Most of the time we Mayors are lucky and the player is kind enough to work out a situation that benefits both sides however there are a few players who are outright childish and are not willing to listen to any form of conversation. It *could* be that the Mayor accidentally assumed you were unwilling to work something out. I would try once more on your end to resolve this. If you have made an honest attempt and nothing came of it then you really should consider moving. Why have a shop that draws attention to their city and perhaps benefits them because folks want to live near a well known shop and established player? The draw of your customers will benefit their city. Do not cut yourself short on this… you have something that they need. If that Mayor cannot realize this then leave and watch their city struggle from afar J
On a side note Aden I would love for anyone with your talent and popularity to move into my city and set up shop. This Mayor is really loosing out on a golden opportunity with you.
Good Luck!

My shop is not set up there, its set up on the border of theed, I made this area for my factories, my harvestors and storage houses after scouting out locations big enough to handle my lot load. 2 months later this city pops up out of nowhere, now I know for a fact that there is many good areas for a city left on naboo. When the mayor met me, he had no idea everything belonged to me and he/she said that they will move or they will be taxed out, strike 1. I did not like the tone that hey my city is more important then you so you need to move, strike 2, after I agreed if I found another suitable spot nearby to relocate to, I would move, I had one of my freinds log on to remove the harvestors back out of the city line, since she gave me 10 extra lots I used those for a set of harvestors.
The moment she logged on that city miltia decided to smack talk and city ban her, she emailed me about and that was strike 3.
People who want to place cities should not just think they will force people out, I mean hello there were 2 structure factories sitting there when he/she/it placed the city hall right next to them. This area has some hills, a lake behind the city hall, and ditches which messes up the lot line, it would be very hard to place a working city there, more hard now becuase the harvestors/factories are taking up precious buildable spots.
I wont be stressed, as there is nothing that can be done to bother me, city ban means nothing, espicially for a city not having a shuttle with only 14 people.
btw how does city ban work? you cant prevent someone from accessing their own home.
