Thread: GarVa's Galactic Home Show, Thursday September 1st

Riventek | Ravenscroft | Dantooine | Corbantis
lot of great cantina designs submitted lately and this one was just
fantastic (and yes I am going to steal and modify it
so intimate and comfortable that I cant see how anyone would not feel
good watching entertainers here.
Here is what Riventek had to say:
Dantooine, Corbantis Galaxy. It is set up more as an intimate dinner
theater than an open stage show house. It features private sitting
areas and a warm, cozy atmosphere where guests can really get up close
and personal with the performers, be they dancers, musicians or the occasional stand up comic.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Remember if you wish to submit your image for the home show you must do 3 things.
1. Take an ScreenShot of the Creation (Pa Halls, City Structures, Homes, Ships are all acceptable!)
(note the image needs to be .bmp/.jpg/.gif and should be no bigger than 400k, If you have multiple images you may send them as a .zip which should not exceed 1.5mb)
screenshot(s) it is better if they are not edited and made into a
collage (this is something I do to the homeshow's myself)
index has been streamlined to reduce the load time and is presented in
a much more accessable list format.
ADDITIONAL NOTE!!! The Home Show Challenge is NOT replacing the homeshow (there was some confusion about this)
Its just going to be one of the 4 normal monthly slots

Ok, stupid question but... How in the world did they manage to get to redesign the walls? Or if those aren't the walls then what items in the game, with THAT color... stack in that manner to look like walls? I know some people have used Structure Moduales to build walls and such, but those are a gray'ish color and not a sandy beige. Message Edited by DarthKthuolhu on 09-01-2005 04:07 PM |

If im seeing it correctly those are the bases of the Architect built Statues. Several stacked on top of one another. |

Heh you really like using fake walls my bothan brother, can't say I blame you. Looks excellent and helps downplay the uselessness of the wings on the stage. |

Riventek 4TW!!!!
Looks nice, although I have seen this somewhere but can't put my finger on it.
The walls are made from architect statues. Only takes 2 statues raised up and stacked to reach the ceiling of even a guild hall. Adds a nice touch and helps seperate a huge room into smaller rooms, also helps when you'r limited on space and need to make it look fuller.
First off, I'd like to just say wow...this may be one of the best Home Shows so far...
and in addition, please excuse my lack of house building experience...but what are the curtains made of?
Woo! Got like five devs up in here AND a paw of approval! What more could I ask for?
Thanks guys! Now here's a bit in response to your uh...responses.
1. The walls are made of Sentinel Statues stacked 2 up.
2. You may have seen a similar cantina elsewhere (multiple galaxies), but this one was their inspiration. It was the original! Also, this is why I felt the need to submit it, as the homeshow tends to act as a kind of copyright service. ![]()
3. The curtains are made of skirts. Up until recently I was a tailor as well, so that helped a lot. Now I'm a shipwright though, since I do that more than tailoring. If you look close you'll see theres actually a gradient to the curtains (it's not just the light!) Now those were fun to sort out and place.
