Thread: The Death nail to player cities is on the test center
PlayerStructures
- All maintenance fees will automatically attempt to deduct from Bank accounts after the maintenance pool has been depleted. Once a structure reaches 0 hitpoints, it will flag itself as condemned instead of deleting itself. Condemned houses are not enterable, and all other structures are not usable. To uncondemn a house, simply enter it with enough money in the bank to pay the repair cost. To uncondemn all other structures, use them with enough money in the bank to pay the costs.
Houses will no longer decay and leave the city so we will not be able to strive and keep active cities
We won't lose citizens, but a player city with no active people does not help up, it kills us
Oh, and it's death KNELL.

If you read later on in the thread it says this is a preparatory step for the character purge, so there will be a clearout of characters and inactive citizens, but this means people won't lose factories/storage/items to going on holiday and should cut down on vanishing items.

People going on holiday usually go an make sure they have enough maintenence lol.
If someone cancels it will be 6 months beore the character purge takes their houses and if they renew one month in 6 thay will be there forever
If someone leaves and places 6 months of maintenence in their house because they may be coming back hats fin, but making us wait 6 month AFTER they cancel is not the answer
I lost 4 (empty) wearables factories to this a couple weeks ago. THey all had at least 20 days maint in them. A few days after I dropped them, they all went away.
So imaginee the stress you will feel if you log in and see your 7 digit bank account now has 3 digits because the time-warp bug took all your money to feed itself.

In addition to having the cash being taken out of the owners bank account, the mayor of the city should have the option of removing the structure, with the deed either going into the owners safety deposit box or some other equally safe place for the deed to go. That way at least the mayor would have some kind of contorl over the neglected structures in thier city, plus there is an actual person who can follow up with the player to find out what the player's status is.
It would also be great if the city terminal in city hall would provide a list of the structures thatfall belowa specified maintenance percentage to give the mayor a heads up on the structures that are becoming deliquent.
