PlayerStructures

  • All maintenance fees will automatically attempt to deduct from Bank accounts after the maintenance pool has been depleted. Once a structure reaches 0 hitpoints, it will flag itself as condemned instead of deleting itself. Condemned houses are not enterable, and all other structures are not usable. To uncondemn a house, simply enter it with enough money in the bank to pay the repair cost. To uncondemn all other structures, use them with enough money in the bank to pay the costs.

Houses will no longer decay and leave the city so we will not be able to strive and keep active cities

We won't lose citizens, but a player city with no active people does not help up, it kills us

I don't know....this sorta brings mixed feelings...

Its nice that you don't have to worry about maintaince (unless if you had no cash), but then some buildings you're waiting to decay and die because some stupid idiot placed a house in the middle of your road in town and then left the game (thankfully that died 3 weeks ago!)...now wont die!

But on the positive, you can play multiple galaxies at once and not worry about those kinds of things...

But again, this is fairly vague...what about harvestors? Do you not have to put any money in them now? Or will the harvestor just take a bit of money from the bank to try and delay the decay? Rather than around 30+ days for a large house to decay, it may take 2 months+ because it takes out some money to repair itself, but not keep it fully maintained/fully repaired? If it works like this...then yeah thats good.

But if it works like how we think (from the sounds of it) where its now directly tied into your bank account...then you can potentially have griefing or never get rid of structures your town doesn't want (and the players left the game and aint coming back).

Maybe if this is the case, then characters who haven't logged in for 1+ months, maintaince should stop being drawn from your bank...or maintaince not being drawn from your bank if your account is inactive.

If you read later on in the thread it says this is a preparatory step for the character purge, so there will be a clearout of characters and inactive citizens, but this means people won't lose factories/storage/items to going on holiday and should cut down on vanishing items.

Oh, and it's death KNELL.

Heya,

I totally agree with Scoooter. This is going to destroy active player cities as you will no longer be able to wait out the maintenance cycle on houses and then replace them when they die; with new active members. This also hurts the smaller towns that wish to grow to bigger levels. With the caps on each planet, smaller towns wont be able to wait for cities to "shrink" so that they can grow to the next rank. The bigger cities that lose 10-15 members per month, will never shrink and slowly become a ghost town as active players will be forced to live outside the town due to lack of room.

It also destroys the taxation system. Once the house runs out of maintenance, there will be no money for tax. Thus a balanced city with a fair taxation system will begin to rely on dontations to get by.

This is a nice gesture by the Devs, but one that really needed to be thought through a bit better.

People going on holiday usually go an make sure they have enough maintenence lol.

If someone cancels it will be 6 months beore the character purge takes their houses and if they renew one month in 6 thay will be there forever

If someone leaves and places 6 months of maintenence in their house because they may be coming back hats fin, but making us wait 6 month AFTER they cancel is not the answer

I am a little uneasy about this. There is no doubt that there does exist a "time warp" bug, and it has destroyed countless stuctures in the game. This bug makes the maintenanc of the structure drain instantly due to the belief that a LOT more time has passed than really has.

I lost 4 (empty) wearables factories to this a couple weeks ago. THey all had at least 20 days maint in them. A few days after I dropped them, they all went away.

So imaginee the stress you will feel if you log in and see your 7 digit bank account now has 3 digits because the time-warp bug took all your money to feed itself.

In addition to having the cash being taken out of the owners bank account, the mayor of the city should have the option of removing the structure, with the deed either going into the owners safety deposit box or some other equally safe place for the deed to go. That way at least the mayor would have some kind of contorl over the neglected structures in thier city, plus there is an actual person who can follow up with the player to find out what the player's status is.

It would also be great if the city terminal in city hall would provide a list of the structures thatfall belowa specified maintenance percentage to give the mayor a heads up on the structures that are becoming deliquent.

Yeah...if a structure becomes condemned the mayor should get an option to remove it!

Who knows, maybe the devs plan on this?

Anyways...the time warp bug is a scary thought if it would affect your bank account then...lol Im worried now!

Anything that saves the factory with 5 million units of resources (50 100k stacks) in the input hopper and a full output hopper that I just put 50k in maintenance in 3 days ago would be greatly appreciated. "I SWEAR when I did the maintenance run I put 200k in EVERY one of the 20 factories in the zone, but yet I still lost that one" has happened to me too many times for it to be something I keep missing as I watch that very very carefully and I would beleive this time-warp you mention is the real issue. The FIRST time, yea it was my fault, but I learned better that time, yet the logs say otherwise. 3 other people often actively use the same factories too, so they can attest to it having worked properly 2 days ago, yet it's gone already?!?!?!!?!.
