Not to long after logging in today after the patch, I realized the street outside my house had been turned into a landing strip. Soon thereafter the formerly plesant sound of "Oh, good. The shuttle is here." turned into the substancialy annoying roar that i have now to endure every minute that i spend in my house. Its enough to make me want to move. You have to imagine, its like waking up, going out to your balcony to watch the sunrise, and intead see a 757 take off 15 feet from your house, and realize they moved LAX to your street. Thank god i can log out. Can we get enough people to get to geather and petition against that sound?

They need to change the sound IMO.
The shuttle is a lot smaller then the one at a starport, so it needs something that doesn't sound so big and mean. Also when the thing is landing..you can hear it before it even enters view....and that looks/sounds terrible.
All the Devs need to do is take a swoop, a speeder, and a AV21, and combine the sounds....and you have a perfect new sound effect for the small shuttles.

I like the fact that they added a sound for those little shuttles. Before it was just a silent nothingness. But I agree, a louder version of one of the speeders would be more suitable. I think the more sounds we have, the more immersion; especially for player cities.

I would love it if they moved LAX to my street. Do you have any idea how much my property would be worth to them?

The shuttle sounds are a nice touch that adds a more realistic effect then the basic 'hiss' of when the old one shuttlelanded. If you don't like hearing it, don't hang around the shuttle all the time
. Its about time some things were tweaked in relation to city effects and making cities feel more like a city and not a collection of houses.

Only if the airport were going to expand, otherwise not much.

Point is though that the sound doesn't fit. They just recycled the sound of the big transport used in starports. You can hear the dors opening when it's landingor the boosters kicking in when it's taking off. Adding a sound is a good idea, but not this way. This is just cheap and lazy recycling. It's like a speeder with the sound of a TIE.
