Hello,

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Zafo Gentlegrass and I'm currently the mayor of Riverbend, Naboo, located in the Kettemoor galaxy. I have also been Riverbend's city planner for as long as our city has been in existence. This means that I'm responsible for the design and placement of houses in our evolving city. For the last 1.5+ years, countless hours have been spent surveying each square to determine where houses can and cannot be placed, constructing a 'to-scale' design blueprint for structure placement, and ultimately using this design to efficiently settle new citizens into or community. I have nurtured our city through its evolving design.

With that being said, I will go into detail about how the current publish 19, which increases the footprint of medium Naboo houses, is negatively impacting the city that our community has built. These are all specific to our city of Riverbend. Although some of these may not apply to all Naboo cities and that many other mayors will have their words regarding the situation, this is our story.

Riverbend utilizes the medium style house to construct brownstone type rows. No row is more than 4 houses long. We have no dead ends. With the increased footprint size, once houses start to vanish or are redeeded within these developments, there will be no possibility to replace them with any house. What we would be left with will be a 1x3 strip which no house conforms to.

Riverbend is nestled between a large hill and a body of water. The water is the end of a river, kind of like a narrow lake. This terrain limits the areas where houses can be placed. Houses with larger footprints cannot be placed in the same place as the previous smaller footprints allowed because of the hilly terrain. This limits the placement of medium houses even further. Medium houses are the most widely used houses in Riverbend and are used in such a way as to make the most efficient use of available space.

Riverbend only allows Naboo style houses, which includes Naboo square smalls, Naboo mediums, and Naboo large houses. An increased footprint to the medium style houses limits the availability of these houses, which in turn limits the variety of houses we have in the city.

The impact that this seemingly small change has is drastic. As of now, we cannot place any medium houses in our medium housing developments. Even once some start to disappear, we will still be unable to place houses in our city to replace them. Our landscape will be riddled with gaping holes that we cannot replace with any house. Our numbers will inevitably shrink as a result.

I am here to ask the developers that the current change to the footprint be reconsidered. Spend a few hours and resources to come up with a better solution to save the countless hours that have been spent by the mayors and city planners of SWG. Help protect those cities that, I'm sure, the developers have envisioned player cities to be. We have done nothing but promoted a positive gaming experience within our community, and this change seriously threatens most all that we have created. We have done nothing wrong, and I feel that by trying to prevent those that wish to exploit the use of these houses, you are also destroying those larger communities that promote a healthy gaming experience.

But don't just take my word for here it here. Tiggs, TH, Developers, and anyone out there, stop by Riverbend, Naboo (near 0,0) and see for yourself. Talk to the CSR's that drop in our garden at 0,0 regularly. Where you see the medium houses now, the current change will soon make these areas unbuildable pocket marks. Feel free and view our current city blueprint here as well.

Mayors and city planners, voice your own stories. Make it known how many people this is affecting.

This needs to be changed back, for the good of player cities.

Thank you for your time.

Add Corrino Palisades, Naboo, Sunrunner to this pitition as well!

We are located at -3233 by 2603, wedged between a hill and river. The design style is heavily dependant on medium Naboo neo-classical styles to help define and foster a small village like community. We have upwards of 60 residents.. but anywhere you are it feels like a small riverside village.

Our landscape defines our building placement. The slope of the hill, as it rises, prevents guild halls and large homes from being placed there, but does allow for mediums.. or did. Now it does not because the foot print of a medium is sooo wide.

With all the homes placed close together the skyline really does feel as though it were more "real" and evoked the feeling of Karen or Kaadera. Now, all building placement is in jeoperdy. We already do not have the ability to place pavement to help define the relationship between buildings, now we have to contend with Galaxies enforced city sprawl too! Seperating the houses so far is more an eye sore, and ruins so many carefully planned communities!

If the issue was to not allow walls around bases, then the foot print of the base, not the house, was the issue!

As a psudo-current-member of the Riverbend City Council, as well as a resident, I would also ask that the developers delay this publish and review this issue. Riverbend and countless other player cities would be devestated as a result of these proposed changes.

Respectfully submitted,

I am a new resident of Xolo, Naboo, Kettemoor, and I see that town in jepardy as well. The city is set up so that one almost get's the feeling that there are country lanes defining the city, and connecting the housing lanes. It really is a beautiful sight to behold. I am adverse to walking through most player-cities in SWG, because they are sprawling morasses, difficult to navigate through, impossible to find anything in, and in all not very interesting to walk through.

Many of the player cities on Naboo, however, are quite the opposite. The Mayors and city planners of those cities really put quite a lot of effort into the design, and managed to create beautiful and simple cities that are easy to navigate and interesting to walk through. Please do not take away this from the game. I understand that there is an issue ofusing these houses as a form of wall aroundbases, but you need to think about the percentage that effects:

There really aren't that many cities that use these houses for that specific reason.

The cities that do use the houses for that reason should not be punished per se, because all they did was come up with a clever defense technique. It's not an exploit, it's just intelligent. They cannot completely close off those bases anyway, there always has to be oneopenning, or therewould be no way to utilize the base.

I honestly, therefore do not understand why this happened. Don't ruin the pieces of artwork that a lot of city planners have created, for the sake of punishing ingenuity.

As a former resident and now mayor of my own city on Corellia I support Zafo's efforts to see to it this change is reversed. This not only affects Riverbend, but every city that has been planned out to accomodate the requirements for city sizes.

I hope to hear soon that the developers will realize the negative impact this change has made and will seek to rectify it quickly.
