I would love to see gardens for players where they can grow produce would also like to see enclosures for animals where they grow, reproduce can be milked and harvested when needed. Would be great for the scout profession.

What I want to know is why can't I have my own personal garden, that would take maintenance money from me the same way a house does? I don't like that gardens are only available if you live in a city... What if I want to be a hermit on some cliff on Naboo with an amazing view, with a little garden in the back?

I hate to burst your bubble but this has come up so many times in the arch forum its not funny. I wouldnt count on it happening anytime soon if ever. I personal would love to see it in any form. Even if it was a non-functional garden next to my house. But ive signed onto to many threads just like this to get my hopes up to high.

yeah, ive seen this on the arch forums too. I really wish there was a farming profession, instead of having harvestors for plants. Just doesnt make sense in my opinion, but from a design standpoint, likely easier to implement.
In my opinion a good way to implement it would be to samplea resource, then grow it. Then have to harvest it, to make a larger sample. Essentially it would have a growth cycle depending on the rarity. All the stuff would have a decay cycle too so that people arent monopolizing the market with rare resources. I had a big long plan for this, which would include smugglers...but Ill put it all up later.

This is a great idea. I've always said I was going to start a gnort dairy farm when it came time for me to settle down, raise a family, and retire from Bounty Hunting. I already have a nice little spot picked out

BUT FARMS WOULD KILL THE SCOUT/RANGER PROFESSION!! Anyways, that was the basic flames I got when I brought up a farm too. I do agree with you 100%. The issue would be XP, and amount of resources from a farm. The idea I brought up was a farm would not even come close to getting the amount of resources that an extractor, or hunter could. Maybe the same as a single lair. Then I'd get posts like "I DON'T WANT TO BE A FARMER" from other rangers. I fully believe in more player city structures classes. I hope at Fan Fest (sometime away I know) to get with one of the devs, and talk about new player structures.

Perhaps the eggs found in the lairs by scouts and rangers could be incubated to produce creatures that have better resources milk, hide, meat etc

I was just thinking that last night when I was visiting the rancher house outside of Mos Eisley (you know, the one where you finish the badge of honor). I was looking at the gardens and the fenced-in farm animals, thinking it would be a wonderful way to RP in chef (grow veggies/ butcher meat). ![]()

hehe i was thinking too last night, u could have a 'loot kit' for creating baby creatures using eggs from a lair, looted components such as hatchery housing, bulb, battery. Next you have to maintain the hatchery checking the temperatureand comfort of the creature until it hatches. Then u have to feed and water the creature like the aureillian plantuntil it grows into an adultyou then get either a pet for ur house (or ship hehe)or a milkable creature for a scout.
