"Borked" doesn't exactly give much of a clue as to your exact problem, could you be a little more specific?
Since there's not a lot to go on, I'll start with the basics, sorry if it's a little obvious but ...

Do you own or have admin rights to the building you're in?
Have you targeted an item within the building?
Are you using the correct command syntax /rotate [direction] [angle] (where direction is left or right and angle is 1-180)?
What error message, if any, are you getting?

I have had that problem recently too. Have you tried the /rotatefurniture left 90....or whatever you need? It was bugged for me to do the shorter /rotate left ## and then suddenly it started working again.

Also, just a tip, but I'm sure you know ....you can't move things around if you are cloaked lol

This happened to my architect toonjust today. For me its the /moveFurniture UP <#> command. The radial still works, but any way I type in /move up I get 'wrong format' message. I /bugged it but dont expect that to work.

This is really a gamebreaker for that toon, all I do with it is 'Interior Design' business *cry*

I'm going to try a fullscan and see what happens.

The commands must be:

/movefurniture left

/movefurniture up

/rotatefurniture

Etc.

TH,I don't think/movefurniture left/right is valid. "forward", "back", "up", and "down" is it, isn't it? (although if left/right is allowed, that would've been useful to know the other day when I was re-arranging some things in my house).

I've found that if you get an "invalid syntax" error with the move or rotate commands, duplicating the direction can make it work sometimes:

/rotatefurniture right right 45

/movefurniture up up 50

etc.

I've got a hunch there's some kind of "/rotate {itemname} {direction} {amount}" syntax hiding in the code somewhere (even though that doesn't actually work in-game). If there's an item within /target range that has a name starting with a direction (like "upholstered chair"), the command seems to want to substitute the object's name in, which screws up the command execution. Duplicating the direction option fills in all the necessary "slots".

When did that change TH?

I decorated my Y-8 over the weekend using some old macros, I've just checked macro.txt and the commands used /move [direction] [distance] and /rotate [direction] [angle] without the "furniture".

(Of course, that's on TC as I wanted to make a prison ship now the up/down is working)

It feels like when I've tried this (lower case directions) in the past, it hasn't worked, but I'm open to being mistaken.

If these don't happen to work, use this format:

/movefurniture LEFT 90

/movefurnitureUP 50

/rotatefurniture RIGHT 10

etc..

No, it had to be changed a while back because "move forward" kept registering the "Forward Bases" so that whenever you tried to move anything inside a house near a forward faction base, you got a crazy error.

I use the /movefurniture forward, /movefurniture up, /rotatefurniture left etc commands all the time.

I have them set up as macros and dedicated a whole set of toolbar buttons for item positioning in my house.

For anyone who does a lot of item positioning inside of structures, I highly recommend setting things up this way:

•Move your tool bar to one of the layers you don't use a lot. (Toolbar level #3 or 4 is convenient).
•Press ctrl-A to pull up your “Abilities” window
•Select the “Macro” tab
•Press the “New macro Button
•In the box where it says, “Macro Text”, add your movement. For example:

(Make a button for each of these)
/rotatefurniture left 45
/rotatefurniture left 90
/rotatefurniture left 180
/move forward 10
/move back 10
/move forward 5
/move back 5
/move forward 1
/move back 1
/movefurniture up 10
/movefurniture down 10
/movefurniture up 5
/movefurniture down 5
/movefurniture up 1
/movefurniture down 1

•Name it in the name window.
•Pick an icon and add it to the list.
•Then drag the icon to the tool bar and moving things become much easier by using the customized buttons you just made.

Hope this helps.

Try the radial menu for rotatingif stuck.

I use the above macros as I can never seem to get my house looking how I want it (more like I have to keep moving new stuff I collect LOL)

A problem and a solution:

I was using /move forward extensively the other dayto move decorations onmy POB Nova cruiser. So I guess it's still bugged for certain people. I haven't tried it recently in my character's ground home.

Since the command should now be /movefurniture <direction> <angle>,I think people might tryusing /movef as the shortcut. Also, there is no way to move something left or right. Those directions are reserved for rotation commands. Use forward and backward while having your character face the direction you want the item to move in.
