Starting today we are stirring the pot
a little bit on the homeshow - hoping to inspire some even more
creative and unusual designs!

What is the Home Show Challenge?



A new way for submissions and creations of ingame designing



How does the Home Show Challenge work?



Once a month we will make a post with the home show challenge theme
and some images of the items you are to use to create a
room/house/item. You will then have a few weeks to make a creation and
submit it to us to be featured as the winner for that month. (this
weeks for example is Crafting Tools and Resource containers)



What do I get for winning?



This is just a forum - for fun thing, all you win is a new title - Challenge Winner - that comes with a different version of the new home show Icon -

and of course the recognition of your peers



Great! sounds like fun, how do I submit my entry & what are the rules?




1. The creation must follow the guidelines and be submitted by the END DATE posted,

so
for this week it MUST use ONLY Crafting
tools and Resource containers this is all that can appear in the
screenshot you submit!! (ANY TYPE of resource container - hides,
chemicals, metals,
bone, meat, etc) and must be received by July 19th 2005!!

2. Take an ScreenShot of the Creation (Pa Halls, City Structures, Homes, Ships are all acceptable!)

3. Email the image(s) to [email protected]with HOME SHOW CHALLENGE in the subject AND your Forum Posting Name (not your login name unless its the same ) if it is not sent as such it may be missed!!!!

4. Please send only full sized
screenshot(s) it is better if they are not edited and made into a
collage (this is something I do to the homeshow's myself)



(note the image needs to be .bmp/.jpg/.gif and should be no bigger than 400k, If you have multiple images you may send them as a .zip which should not exceed 1.5mb)

A new link will be added on the home show challenge page and it will
link to all the Home Show Challenge winners for each months version.

Perhaps you could set it up so that people get a small award for being put into the "top 10 - 20" that get put on the site without winning. Perhaps a point system... runners up would get more points and winners more yet. Everyone would be encouraged by being one of the however many put on the site if they were working towards their reward. Maybe the winners would get the new picture... and some other color variations for people that win more than once.

I always ask for too much. Can't hurt to ask.

I do think it would help with getting people to submit, if they could be working towards a reward that's not "too" hard to get.

well since we are on the topic of takin screenshots. How do I get rid of all the fluff on the screen so it looks nice.

Ohhh, and this sound like a fun new idea to test our creativity.
