I was trying to put a med. Naboo house down in our city the for a new guild member other night. It was going into the same spot as that someone took one out of. But, with the new footprints this was very frustrating. It would not fit right. It leaves space that can't really be used for anything.
Now our city is stuck at township level and has enough people for a metropolis. we don't have enough room to put more people into the city and we have wasted space. It doesn't make much sense. I know that "someday" they are going to do a purge. But in the meantime can we maybe make the size of the cities a bit bigger?

The problem isn't the size of the "cities" at all. The change to the footprint screwed up alot of PrePub19 cities quite badly. I know they say this change was needed to avoid the walls that ppl were creating... however, those walled in cities are still there but yet those of you that are still "growing" really got shafted... not to mention the cities that were a Metro ranking already. My city is a Metro (Dantooine,Gorath) and since this change went through i haven't been able to add anyone to the city.

To make matters worse, all the planets on Bria are capped. So you can't even start a new one.

well, i suspect the long awaited purge will clear alot of ghost cities out. Something many of us are looking forward to.

Yes, the new footprint on the Med Naboo house is way to big, I agreed the house shouldn't be placed right next to another Med Naboo so that it touches but they didn't have to go overboard like they did and now many cities are screwed. I would suggest taking down the med naboo's temporarily until they fix them to avoid any city problems.

The problem is that some of them are old members that aren't playing anymore so we can't take them up. Hopefully when the purge hits it will clean things up some.

They should have made the gap maybe a tile or two - but the space the medium Naboo houses take now is just messing things up completely when you plan a city... We wanted to put medium houses back to back to create a "street" effect - but after seeing the space we would waste by doing so we dropped that idea in a hurry... Not happy! ![]()

You are telling me that you can't fit a small round naboo style house in the area of the old footprint for a medium house?
/sigh
Try living on Rori where you are lucky to get a town big enough JUST using small round naboo houses due too many lakes and too many areas that are too hilly.

I have been hearing about a purge for almost a year now. Is there an offical ETA on this?
I too am very frustrated that Bria is totally capped on cities

The purge should be hand in hand when packing up houses goes live.

josslyn wrote:Personally, I don't hold my breath when there is talk of the great "purge". This has been something in the works since Oct. 2004 and almost a full year later we still have not seen the clean up begin. Although the house pack feature is certainly a step in the right direction i won't believe it till i finally see something posted with an EXACT date of it taking place.
The pack feature was disabled. It doesn't quite work properly yet. Don't hold your breath on that.

They're still working on making sure that departed players can still come back to all their stuff. Until they can think up a good way to do this, there won't be a purge.
