You know, I completely forgot about that PM. Sorry about that.
What I'd really like to see: a real server droid.
Give the thing a vendor module, and make the inventory relative to the storage modules in it. 10 is definitely too few for what I'm thinking of, but we don't want to get too out of hand. Maybe 2x or 3x capacity of the storage modules, and having any items in the vendor module prevent the droid from being stored in the datapad (although that could cause some problems with auto-store). Double clicking on the droid brings up a vendor interface allowing players to buy directly from the droid. To keep from stepping on merchants' toes, require Business 4 or Novice Merchant for certification of the module (similar to the current barker module implementation).
Slap in a vendor module, a barker module, program a couple of patrol points, and you've got yourself a little waiter. The silly side of me wants to order a BLL with one of these setups...

could you sticky this? seems its getting burried. ive gotten quite a lot of data back from many of the other profs and i think there is some things that droids can get to do that would be specific to chef's uses (as most profs ideas tend to be general and apply to many).

Playful and amazing idea.

Wow, thats really a great idea, you have my full support on that (even if that doesn't help much
)
Also give us the possibility to buy R2-chassis with this "Trayholder" on it like R2-D2 used on jabba's ship, best would be in addition to the vendor module SciguyCO suggested, but it should be able to be deactivated.
Perhaps make the tray a chef option only, not a build-in droid function.
Also some kind of "mini-factory" would be nice. Perhaps able to handle schematics of 5 or so at max, but it would really help to craft some stuff away from your factories, that require 2 identical Alcohol and you don't have any or so.
Or make us do all the 5 items manually, but they'll all come out singles, but with the same seriel number.

The expanded storage capacity would be really nice.
Also, I remember reading a dev's post awhile backwhich stateda droid crafting module neither detracted nor added to item creation. In essence they have a crafting rating of 0. Private crafting stations can have a rating between -30 and +45. (give or take)If a crafting station can get up to a +45 functionality rating, so should a droid. Of course this would strictly depend on the DE creating the droid and the materials used. If high end materials are used by a 12 point DE, then the crafting modules wouldhave ahigher rating.

being a crafter involves some work, and that includes figuring out the resources
Getting the names of resources that have shifted (by comparing to swgcraft), and then go there and check if you can use them

hmmm i dont know if anyone has ever brought this up....but it would be nice to use the interplanetry survery droid and have itprovide STAT information on the resrouces it locates for you
as it stands right now this droid is fairly useless.....yes i am aware that SWG craft exists but sometimes their information is outdated or...their site isn't working right....would be nice to send out a few survey droids and get almost instant information back so that i could then go and harvest stuff
(if the stats were worth it)
i wonder if this could be done

lol i relaize that
but dont you think it would be work to craft tools to put in the droids and then send them out and wait and then compare what resources are best????
and last night i wasnted to see what was out there...tried going to swg craft but it was down....and that is not the first time that has happened to me .....so perhaps i would like to do my own research without having to fly to each planet

How about a droid that can be added to a factory to speed up the production.Master Chefs or any crafter receives 1 (and only 1 no matter how many master skills one has) upon mastering a crafting profession. It cannot be traded and disappears when the "Master" box is dropped. You place it in the factory of choice and it speeds up the production run by a % like 25 or 50. It would be placed in the factories input hopper like an ingredient and can be removed and placed into any factory as needed.....only the factory with the droid in it receives the bonus speed. Would help meet personal orders in a reasonable time frame instead of the customer having to wait days for a special order. Just a thought.
I like the vendor droid as well.
