The easiest way to check is to look at the draft schematic and see what stats contribute to what experimental category. Although there are some reports of the different numbers being incorrect, so don't trust these 100%.

Nutrition (buff size) is the primary line for experimentation on most foods. This is based on 66% PE and 33% OQ. From most testing, this breakdown is always be the case, even though some schematics show different stats. Bespin Port, for example, has 50% DR / 50% OQ in the schematic, but that doesn't match the results you get when experimenting.

Flavor (buff duration) is usually the second place to put points. This is based on 66% Flavor and 33% OQ.

Filling is based on 75% DR and 25% OQ. Double buff vercupti (50 filling) is a big seller, so if you come across a high DR spawn of tubers, lubricating oil, and insect meat you might look into picking some up. You need to hit roughly 86%, so look for 860+ DR and OQ.

Quantity is usually the red-headed step child of experimentation, with only a point or twospent on it. It depends on 75% PE and 25% OQ.

For most foods, you'll want resources with high PE and OQ, with a decent FL.
