Thread: What happened to the Tattooine Sunburn?
I liked it because it buffed my secondary hams to the point that my specials cost little ham to use... a godsend.
But now, I find myself wanting to break free from the dependency on doc buffs. Ive tried hunting (and jedi hunting) by using only chef foods and found it CHEAPER than doc buffs and just as good (just can go solo'ing the heck out of rancor nests).
But... no chef foods that i know of buff strength/quickness by about 500'ish + like the Tatt. sunburn used to.
And when i ask master chefs about the sunburn they just blink at me confused. ive been told that schematic doesnt exist.
So....
Where did my sunburns go? What chef foods can i buy for my strength/quickness (all in one dont have the stomach filling to take the mandatory vas. brandy+synthsteak+thakitillo then 2 more for str/qui ..need it to be bothe in one food)??
As a master fencer I have a high amount of melee/ranged def without any combat stacking. I chose that profession for the reason of unbuffed fighting. I wear a set of mabari armorweave that costs 50-60 in all my substats. Second i use 1 accargm, 1 garrmorl, 2 ahrisa. This gives me 36-40 minutes covering my top 6 stats and focus to lower mind costs. Althought im likely as a fencer to swap ahrissa for shrimpi to lower my action costs instead of my mind costs. I also keep vegesparine with me as well. This gives me a +25 melee def boost for 17 minutes and lets you go over the cap. Remember when making vegesparine you can use junk resources in the two veghash since it doesnt affect the outcome of the vegasparine. And the two veghash can be non-BE as well. My wife and I tested this and found it to be true. This lowers the cost of making vegesparine quite a bit.
Next is to think about your armor. You dont want comp and really you dont want ubese. Since both will hurt your stats very badly. If you do insist on wearing ubese, and it does help, go with jacket, pants, gloves. The pants of course are optional depending on how you feel about the armor hole or if you want to use it. I always wear pants into a fight myself. Gets to be a bit of a breeze.
Myself i wear a set of ultra low HAM Mabari since it makes me AP1 even though its only 14% to kinectic. It still will lower the amount of damage you take.
Learn your target! You cant take on Rancors solo unbuffed. Im up to 9k HAM socials now using a pet and droid to help. I keep my spices ready to go and burstrun as well. Its a challange and it makes combat a lot of fun.
**********How does this apply to the chefs and chef forum***********
Simply its a new market. After doing these kind of unbuffed posts in the ranger and game guide forums. You will find there is a group of people who are doing this now. These are an untapped customer base. They will ask for foods and drinks that you normally never make. Which is a new challange for the chefs not the same old canape, brandy, ahrissa's over and over. Although the unbuffed riflemen live buy that setup still.
Talk to your guildies and you will find at least one to two people who will admit that they do this. Since most unbuffed fighters dont advertise this. Ask them there needs and learn to make the food/drinks to match. If there swordsman look at the strenght food to lower there specials cost over ahrissa. Fencer, carbineer? think scrimpi. Take this both as a challange and an oppurtunity. You wont make big money on it. But its there to learn and who knows post CU it might be important
as far as foods, ive been experimenting with a few.
For jedi hunting ive found that best results come from:
Vasarian Brandy (+450 mind/focus/willpower for 50 mins)
Synthsteak (+45% damage reduction for 45 mins or 27 hits)
Breath of Heaven (+1000 str/qui/focus for 8 mins)
Vercupti of Aggazza (sp?) (+1000 health/action/mind for 12 mins)
Thakitillo (+90 KD defense for 12 mins)
I drink 2 brandies right after i send my probot to search target's planet. By the time i get reply and get to planet my drink stomach is at 50%. I eat the synthsteak then. By the time i reach target by using seekers both food/drink are at zero.
Then before the fight i eat the breath of heaven and the thakitillo ...if target doesnt run but stays and fight i eat the vercupti (otherwise its wasted) and slug it out.
No regen on ham bars for me at all..but i do end up with one BIG mind bar (i do use afk dancer buffs..those are free hehe..my mind bar is like 4000 and action/health like 2200).
and for emergencies (50% of the time) i use a neutron pixie to pump my health/action.
Regardless of how wasteful this seems, if I do nail the jedi I still make a good 100k profit per kill ..if i fail i only waste 8k worth in foods. Thats massive compared to getting 15k doc buffs and wasting them sometimes in missions that you end up finding the guy in a house or afk in a cantina. with foods you pump up when you fight only.. only waste is the 2 brandies and the synthsteak...which for someone running around with light armor should be a must anyway imo.
Hope this helps.
But the NPC drinks don't have any buff value, they are simply RP drinks

Doesn't BoH do the same thing as it now?
Not really. Tat Sunburn gave roughly +1500 Stamina (wonderful for entertainers) and +1500 Strength (very nice for profs with Health-heavy special costs like fencer). The closest you can get to this with current foods would be Mando Wine + BoH (to get all secondaries for about +1000 each) or some of the single-stat buffs (Gruuvan Shaal for Strength and Teltier Noodles for stamina).
Personally, I've always had the theory that the buff for Tat Sunburn had an extra factor of 10 thrown in accidently, but it was never that much of a concern since chef foods were really not that good at buffing pre-revamp, so this gave us at least one "impressive" offering.
