Thread: Factory time reduction?...

Okay this is very bizarre... I made all the components to do 2 500 item factory runs of brandy (w/ additives). Split the components and ingrediants between the 2 factories. Once everything was in place i took samples from the first factory and made my schematic, threw it back in along with the crates and resources i pulled out to make the schem. Then i did the exact same thing with the 2nd batch in the adjacent factory. Started both up and walked away. When i came back the next day to check the status of the brandy i noticed 1 factory had more items produced then the other. Perplexed i examined the factories and saw that 1 of them was making the brandy a full 30 seconds faster per item! The ONLY thing different between the 2 runs was that i got an amazing result on the last exp point i used on the 2nd schem (yes this was for the factory that was making the items faster).

So my question is, does getting amazing results from experimenting reduce factory cook time with chef items? I have a master architect currently and have been master weaponsmith as well and have never experienced this sort of thing previously.

Maybe.

The factory time depends on the complexity of the item. Originally, it was related to the base complexity of the item. However, experimentation increases item complexity, too, and a bug was fixed a few publishes back so that the number of experiments you run has an effect on factory time. Each experiment (regardless of points spent) increases the item's complexity by 1, which increases the factory time 8s.

So if you ran 2 experiments on one batch, and 6 experiments on another, the second batch would take 4*8s = 32s longer for each item.

Thanks for reply sciguy.

That is some interesting stuff you mentioned. I had no idea that number of experiments done can increase cook time. Fascinating.

I bet thats exactly what happened to me then.
