Thread: Chef working on Kauri
-ww
Hello, Wyan. I'm also a chef on Kauri. I'mon Naboo out ofTheed, mostly. Where are you located? I'm not focused on shooting up in skill, so I wouldn't be a good judge. I haven't hit anything beyond Novice Chef yet. How is it going with selling your food or just getting people to use it? Sometimes I can't seem to give away my food. ![]()
I'm on Kauri - and going Chef/Tailor ... I have found that the majority of the playerbase doesn't realize the benefits of food yet...
I tend to make custom Tailor outfits or backpacks... and then give samples of food/drink away with the orders - just ask people to test out the extra goodies - examine them to see their benefits and then munch them up before a fight to see them work their magic.
I've gotten a few repeat customers because of this, but mostly, if someone doesn't actually KNOW someone going this route - they just think food and drink are for RPrs......
I also make a point of yelling out FOOD=BUFFS randomly when I am trying to sell things... that seems to spark occasional attention.

For cranking away and getting xp, Wastril Bread gives you the most xp, 70, per creation, but doesn't follow the 2xp per resource used that most foods do. With lots of cereal and fruit and several food crafting tools, you can keep cranking those out.
As for people not knowing what food does, the really funny thing is that every single char starts with food in their inventory. But I know all the combat people just want to dive in and start shooting, not caring about their equipment or anything, just wanting to see death and xp.
When the lots of combat people have gotten to master in their profession and don't see any improvements by gaining new skills, that is when they will start looking to equipment to help make them stronger, beyond buying bigger guns and better armor.
Give me a tell in game and I'll be happy to come where you are and whip you up an order. Now be warned that it will take time to make all the necessary food because I do not have a factory (working on that) but I will happy to come where you are to deliver.
