Thread: Idea to help Chefs Attn. Devs
I had an idea that could help Chefs out. We are not required to eat or drink, and so most people don't care to do so. A simple fix for the game may be to add in a feature that after so long you get a message that displays: You are Hungry, or You are Thirsty. People can choose to ignore this, but it would also be a reminder to people, to eat and drink. Have it occur once a day cycle for where you are. It his noon and you get a reminder to eat if you haven't eaten anything in the last cycle.
I had problems trying to give away food when I was in the Artisan tree and just experimenting with food.

I don't think Chef needs fixing.
I'm not getting wealthy by any means and I'm not gaining tens of thousands of XP per hour, but I'm not supposed to.
I AM selling my product at a reasonable price that allows me to make a small profit. I only sell 10 to 20 items per day, but I never have a problem selling them on the bazaar. I used to try to give them away in the cantinas, but for some reason they're easier (and more rewarding) to sell on the bazaar. Now my items sell for about 3 to 4credits per unit of resource used they almost always sell out within 24 hours.
I am a casual gamer and so far I have found that being a novice chef, while not all that exciting, can be fun and entertaining for a person like me. I don't have people climbing over each other to get to my product, but someone is buying it. Hopefully they are using and enjoying it, even if they aren't required to use it.
EntropyNut, the point that they other guy is saying is that no one is really that interested in food or drink. Personally, I think you should HAVE to eat and drink - making Domestic Arts 1-4 and Chef really good skills to have. If you don't eat/drink you should start to lose your stat regeneration rates slowly over time (ala wounds).
Anyway, I also think that food should be effective enough to sell for craploads of money - my friend, an architect, has over 450k ON HIS PERSON. Man, I wish I was an Architect...!
Well, back to trying to get Mixology 1... gah.
