Raph,

If you can even just tell us some of the bugs you are aware of, that would be wonderful, fabulous! Just let us know you are working on Vendors, on the Chef class, on Creature Handlers and Bio-Engineers. That you know people are not happy with the state of things, and you are working to fix it.

Keeping us in the dark is very frusterating.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The absolute top priority for us right now is server stability. This is such a major issue that we are devoting the entire programming staff to it.

We think we have mostly addressed the issues with ghosting, inability to log in, and the construction markers not finishing.

The top issues we are seeing reported are:

* Vendor problems. Inability to retrieve items in various ways mostly. Unfortunately, stability takes priority over this one.
* Missions not giving rewards. We have identified the problem for the theme parks, and have a fix ready, but are still tracking it down for terminal missions.
* Group chat channels vanishing. We're trying to track this down now.
* Character stats getting lowered, probably by armor. Every time we think we have this fixed, it pops up again.

This doesn't mean that we don't see the issues with chefs or bio-engineers, but that we see them as less important than these high level issues that affect more than one profession.

I think it is a good sign the way they mentioned chef proffesion. So they understand that right now it is a useless proffession. I'm mixology 3 now, and retiring my chef for awhile. Going to play acombat character on another server.

Hopefully in a few weeks, the proffesion will be fixed and i'll be back.

So today I was doing my usual grind... but suddenly something different occured. I started falling asleep in front of my computer.... it's sad when a "fun" game makes you fall asleep.

Depends.

No saving chefs until the servers are completely stable. And I can't fault them for that.

If we get the servers settled pretty soon, we may see things happen with the rest.

As I just got Novice Chef the other day. I didn't grind ONE BIT up to this point--that is to say, I sold every single item I made and didn't destroy or give away any.

But now I realize that I have to grind. I can't possibly sell any of my Novice Chef items because they are worthless, yet producing this is the only way to finally get Mixology II. Grinding SUCKS. I had great fun with this game until I realized that I HAVE TO GRIND.

I officially quit this profession until it's fixed. I wish everybody would quit being a chef, and we should all start a big petition thread asking to fix our profession and the others.

While Holo has as point, I totally disagree. He says that server stability affects everybody, while the profession related professions only affect certain players. Very true, and that is the EXACT reason why they should fix Chefs and Bio-engineers. If everybody shares the same problems, then they feel less inclined to quit because they understand that they are not alone. But if certain players are neglected, these players are almost sure to quit.

Sorry, that should be "profession related problems."

Yep.. not anytime soon.

When I read that post earlier today I was happy that someone on the dev team even knew that a Chef class existed, but at the same time it made me realize what a low priority Chefs are. If this is on par with other MMO's (and it is either on or below par in most ways) then I would not be surprised to see Chef classes getting attention in anywhere from3-5 months. No joke.. I don't expect changes for another3-5 months.

This is why I'm picking up other classes to do as a side job. I can always revoke the skills if Chef's get some love, but until then I guess I'll work on smuggling spices or maybe some other crafting job.

There are simply too many problems with the game to help a class that is played by so few people. It's a matter of economics and population. First will come stability, economic stabilization, nerfs and balancing, gameplay bugs, gameplay tweaks, world content, gameplay improvements for highly used professions, and then gameplay improvements for chumps like us Chefs.

I am willing to say that I have not been more impressed yet dissapointed in a game ever. They have released a wonderful andhorrible game at the same time. Like one of those movies that is completely awful, but for some unexplainable reason continues to amuse you. Oh, well. At least in a couple weeks I won't have to worry about it since I won't have internet where I'm going. Beach house for2 months.. here I come!

You know, I think you guys are being a little overly harsh...To me the message seems to say: We're going to take care of the really big global problems that seem to affect almost everybody and then, when we're a good ways through that, we're going to start in on the proffessions with Chef and BE first.

Although I agree there are things more important to fix than broken professions, I still see this taking a long long time. It's notlike a set check list, as they release more patches, and the new space expansion more stability issues will arise and other problems will arise that will be pushed ahead of us. And it is a matter of population, there are so few of us, that for them to push us off to the end of the list is a very easy thing to do. So, frankly I dont feel any better that they acknowledge us.

I can see some changes being made by the end of August. Up to you if you think that is a long time.
