Premise #1, if a food item has a subcomponet you can only make 999 of that food, since you could only make 1000 of the subcomponet and 1 of those goes into making the schematic.
Therefore for the sake of round numbers I am doing this analysis on making a total of 900 Heavy Nutrition additive in barrels.
You first need 904 BE additives to make 902 Chef additives. (the extra two is one for the schematic, and one extra in case of crit failure.)
These 902 chef additives make 900 BoH (same logic)
You need 904 power conditiors and 904 control units to make 902 barrels
You need 6 different runs of 906 unit alcohol.
Then if you put 2 runs of 450 BoH since the alcohols must be from the same crate.
Ok, if you are collecting all resources and running all factories yourself, you have 13 runs.
You also have a total of over 525,000 resources.
For 36 crates.
At 5 cpu alone (not counting the factory costs) You need to charge at least 72k for each crate. Not bad, considering people paid that for OLD BoH and this will be both better buff and with the barrel, (when it works) will make more charges.
Plus price will go up becuase supply will be that THAT MUCH smaller since we cant make as much.
STill an awful lot of work, but who knows what it will come out to in the long run.

Based on the amount of time that would take and the extra ingredients that you probably would have to get from BE's & Master artisan's (unless you can cover those bases yourself), the price would be more like 150k a crate. My reasoning being that it would be more profitable to make something else with the same amount of ingredients and time spent, not to mention hassle.

That is a good possiblity...maybe we should explore a little and see how things sell...
maybe we do kind of migrate into more sales of "singles" and "play" bartender more often...mixing drinks and cooking MTO
Using a cask and getting 22 in a stack is pretty damn good IMO

I don't think your effectively including the costs unless you are a MA, MChef, BE. There is no way your going to be buying tissues for 5cpu. It just won't happen. I think a conservative estimate will be 1k a tissue for the lower end ones and 2-3k for ones like the heavy Mass ones. I actually believe it costs more(cpu wise) to get 35k meat than 5k meat.
So assuming your not a BE, you basically need to take the 70-100 resources out of the equation and just add in 1-3k per item. This still comes out pretty decent assuming the buff is ok and the additive was decent. But like someone said above I think 150k or so for a crate of this is not too high. Especially considering they will be getting better food that previous and because of the barrel(assuming they fix it) they are getting 4-5 times the old amount.

I agree with Numen -- your BE costs will be higher.
I was helping my BE friend just now figure out his costs for additives.
We figured just his cost to make things would be 5cpu for floral, 10 cpu for non-domesticated meat, 15 cpu for domestic (if we can even find it) and we guesstimated 20cpu for milk.
And of course he deserves to make a nice profit over cost as well.
So 1k for a light additive would be conservative. I was paying a little more than that for the old BE additives and they weren't even as good as the new light additives are.
