Hey... I used to be a master chef while grinding to get my fscs slot open, but I had to drop to get other professions going. I attained my fscs slot and wanna go back to chef as it was my favorite profession out of the ones I did. I got to 4440 and then the patch came. I am currently manufacturing alcohol in my factory and guess I'm gonna look for gemstone to make containers so I can continue grinding Ithorian Mists, but any other suggestions for my grind up the cooking tree, or any new ways to grind the profession?? I know that chef grinding just got 10x harder if anyone is trying to grind to master.

Can you tell me why grinding got 10x's harder to master? I am currently en route for master too before the patch came. Seems like some of the foods I can make now are worth more experience than the items before the patch, although i'm only 1-1-1-0. Did they up the experience levels or something?

I was in the midst of grinding Chef, using Ithorian mist, with the patch however it takes too many components even though xp is almost double.
So I've switched back to synthsteak, 5 hide, 20 greens and 20 corn...not too bad and on practice it delivers 189 xp. This may not be the best but it has worked great for me.
Ithorian mists will get you around 300xp but it's all the extras you have to make that wastes time in grinding.

Actually, grinding got at least twice as easy. Almost all foods give xp equal to 4x the raw resources (components don't add anything), when it used to be 2x. Wastril is gone from Novice, but Soypro gives 80xp, using up only 20 resources. And since it's a component with no filling, you can eat it yourself to get an additional 40 UXP. I'm not sure if the uxp from eating your own food is intended or not, but even without that you're already making an additional 10xp per item and using less resources.
With the skills you've got, I'd recommend Kiwik Swirl (desserts III, 260 xp using 80 resources, no components, and no creature resources) or maybe Rakirian Burnout sauce (Entrees IV, 280xp but it requires a carbosyrup and Liquid petrochem fuel, not something most chefs have just lying around).
Oh, and just because, here's required reading for all grinders (slightly tongue-in-cheek, no offense intended):
