This isn't as good as you think!

Vagnerian Canape

25/23/43/22

Focus and Willpower +470 for 3m42s

81

6

81% filling.

When you eat it you get 3m 42s of the buff.

Your stomach takes 30 minutes to empty.

It will take 18min 36 seconds before you can use this the next time leaving you unbuffed form 14min 54sec then you are buffed for another 3min 42sec

At which time you become unbuffed for 20min 36sec.

At which point you go on a cycle of being buff for 3min 42sec and unbuffed for 20min 36sec

waiting for the next point you can eat this product.

Not exactly a step up from what I'm eating now where I can eat it as fast as the buff lasts.

The example you gave is hardly enough to delcare the title of this thread.

You'll have to do better than that. If you can't find the true worth of our foods and drinks, it may be because you are a little used to the old system of buffs being too good for balance.

Yes, I said too good for balance.

We were too powerful.

Ok let me put it this way. I now can only consumeabout 2 of your products every 24 min (one drink one one food) where as before I consumed 2 of your products every 3 minutes. So now you are making 8 times less on me. Heck Spices with the 2minute down time is more advantageous then 4 minutes up and 20 minutes normal.

So for with spice I'm buffed for 83% of the time with17% down time (normally have that much down time anyway while running back to the terminals)

With comparable food I'm buffed for 15% of the time and normal for 85% of the time.

All this has done is made Spice the more attractive option. Longer buffs for less money and quicker reuse.

I think the way these things will work is to use spice for HAM buffs and chef foods for pet and stat buffs. The stomach empty times are way to long to make chef food HAM buffs very appealing, but the stat buff have definite promise (espeically the spice downer relief one!).

Those are old numbers. The dessert trio (Won-won, Kiwik Swirl, and Vagnerian Canape) were tweaked while still on TC.

New numbers:

Filling: 41-27 (with a 57% experimentation in Filling, I got this down to 33, so you could eat 3)

+225-375 buff (ok, they reduced the buff size)

8-18 minutes (they doubled the duration)

Quantity: 6-10

With medium-good resources, here's one I made tonight:

Filling 33, +282 Focus/Willpower, 10m, stack of 6

If this was all you ate, you'd have no downtime (the buff would wear off at the same time the 33% filling digested). Or you could eat three of them, getting +846 to focus and willpower for 10 minutes, and have either 20 minutes with no buff, or you could keep eating one every time they wore off.

Ok, you aren't chowing through food as quickly as you were before, but there does come a point where demand outstrips supply. If you're making trips back to your local food vendor less often, the prices will likely remain lower (since raising prices is the common way to slow down sales to match production).

Still look crappy?

**edit**

Oh, and just to make it clear, that's with no BE additives.

Much better, thanks sciguy

I thought they where going to stop food buff stacking.

I can live with those and working with BE and Chefs it looks like getting some great buff foods for my secondary stats will be ok.

I was making some food items, mostly domestic arts and some entrees I and novice chef items. Some of the buffs on the domestics I was getting up to nearly 1 hour buff times. There are certainly going to be choices and new things to learn in this system. I also think they will need to tweak a few of the items to make them a bit more useful.

Just made some Vasarian Brandy with medium-high quality resources but no additives. +200 mind, focus, and willpower, 50% filling, 41 minutes. This means that after you stomach empties you have 11 minutes to consume 2 more and get a double buff. Sounds pretty good to me.

Vasarian Brandy

Filling 49

Buff + 409

Duration 42 mins

Taken properly you can have a constant 818 buff to m/f/w and for spurts of 10 mins you can have +1636. How again, is this not good?

First off, your numbers are wrong. A VC I made yesterday was 33 filling 236 buff and duration 9min 30s. Second, drinks and food count separately so you can also take 2 Vasarian Brandies and get about450 Mind Focus Willpower buff for 30+ minutes. Don't know if that's good enough for you but a rifleman I showed this to was very happy about new food and wanted to get more of it.
