I've been expermenting with Bespoin port (+11 experment bonus)... and after hours of using it... I've determined that it doesn't do jack. I'm a master chef with +12 expermentation points. I got just as many good, great, and amazing successes while on Bespin Port as I did when I didn't use Bespin Port... in fact, I actually got a few more good success and less amazing success in my trial run of 30 experiments each. Here are the results:
Off Bespin:: 30 runs
8Amazing Successes
15Great Successes
5Good Successes
2 Crit Fails
On Bespin:: 30 runs
7 Amazing Successes
15 Great Successes
6 Good Successes
2 Crit Fails
So looking at the above results it seems Bespin Port is eaither broken (LOL,something brokenin SWG! LOL) or it's a cheap trick by the DEV's to create an additional money sink.
Anyone else care to share what they think about Bespin Port?

my initial tests were very similar to yours. After quite a bit of trials (me and my WS/AS partner have run through crates of the stuff) we've decided it does provide a benefit, but a very minor one. Without being privy to the actual math of the experimentation process, there's no way to know whether it's actually working as intended or not.
Let me put forth an imaginary scenario:
For each experimentation, the server rolls an imaginary d10000 and runs its result against this table:
1-500: critical failure.
501-1500: moderate success
1501-9500: great success
9501-10000: amazing success
Now, I'm not claiming this is the actual scale, but obviously Port could "work" by giving you a +12 to this roll and still not have much in the way of an actual noticable effect.

My best guess would be that it only works for 10 point masters. After using it for a couple of weeks now I must say that I get alot more amazings not using it then I do when I use it. I don't have any numbers to support this statement so its just my observation. Incidentally I have never had a crit fail while using it. I can't comment on greats/goods because 125 exp and assembly in a research center should never get you lower then a great anyway unless it is a crit fail.
