fellow chefs as you may or may not know that pretty soon the market for some drinks especially brandy will be saturated

the problem is within ourselves, with us striving to produce better quality products we are saturating the market, brandy for example can last up to 55minutes probably more. for the sake of this im going to say 40 minutes. with the use of casks you then get 18 uses per stack, if you take 2 shots at once that gives 6 hours per drink thats 150 hours a crate and if u dont drink 2 at once thats 300 hours! what im tring to say is maybe we should not make such long lasting products or maybe use large glasses instead of casks? this my bring the price down initially but in the long run people will have to buy more?

i know this is a bit of a sly tactic but will benifit us all.

post your thoughts and try to keep the flames down please

I'm making JUST enough brandy to keep the vendors stocked, and concentrating on synthsteak, bivoli etc.

I only use casks in drinks, even the lower ones, because everything I sell is also BE enhanced, but the price reflects that.

Most of my income actually comes from things like veghash, garrmorl, acarragm, bivoli, synthsteak etc

I agree market saturation due to durations would suck I purchased another account to craft for my pvp toon and of course the Chef is one of my supports. As a rifleman (comp armor) I need that duration and nutrition value from brandy, but it gets expensive eating the def foods and brandy to solo hunts atm....but I still think chef's prices r fair atmsince they have the right right to make good cash as the other crafters. If docs can rake in a million a day in buffs why cant chefs compete with such sales imo. Nerf 45m+ durations and speed up food/drink dumpage would be better imo. All crafters should have equal playing ground on supply and demand.

with respect you're relying on your customers being too stupid to notice there's 9 charges instead of 18. I don't think that's a winning business strategy

Brandy saturation wouldn't really bother me a whole lot. There are always going to be people that have run out. I sell as many normal crates(using small glasses) as a I do BE stuff(casked). I don't cask because its better for the consumer, I do it so the cost of the tissue doesn't make me lose credits in making it.

If I thought I wouldn't loose any business on all my other foods if I didn't stock brandy I would seriously consider not making it anymore. I just don't see that happening.

Before the chef patch people complained that durations were too short, and now that we got what we wanted you are complaing they are too long??

Everyone wanted our buffs to be competitive to doc buffs. Well now they are.

I think the durations are just fine, and I am not worried about market saturation.

I'd have to agree with Master Saitek. Even though sales on brandy have slowed, I do still have brandy sales. I have greatly diversified my product line though, so slower brandy sales haven't mattered that much. There is so much we can make and so little time.

Still selling here.

Heck I'm glad that Brandy demand has dropped a bit...now I can start making some of the lesser known foods.

You'd be surprised. I couldn't begin to count the number of people who say that my (21 use) Brandy is overpriced because they got stuff with the same buff size and duration (but only 6 charges) for 125k. Half of them don't even understand when I try explaining the difference to them.

Yes lol What I dont get seeing players whine and cHeEse about 1k on doc buffs when a fighter can easily make 100+k in 3 hours when they r in their second teirs. I never complained about price of brandy and stims with my rifleman/cm....anyways fighters should make a 70-80% profit when hunting if thats what their concerns r. Pffff...to the cheese makers lol Brandy prices r cheap in respect to what u get in the overhead scheme.

Just my thoughs not urs
