Thread: Please Address Item Losses Due to Bugs

Yesterday, I placed a bag containing many many flora resources in my vendor's stockroom for just about 5-10 minutes. It was a quick and temporary thing that I did, just to make some room in my avatar's inventory for a little moment. When I tried to retrieve the bag from the stockroom, I got a system message saying that the item cannot be retrieved because it is no longer available. Poof, there went all of my flora resources in the bag.

I immediately logged off and waited for about an hour, and then came back. Nothing happened. I sent a CSR ticket, and just logged off for the day, hoping that the item will be restored. This usually works when items were lost inside the buildings, and I thought that server shutdown would probably get things back to normal.

This morning, I log on and get a response from the CSR via the ticket I submitted. Basically I was told that they cannot do anything to restore my lost resources. I was pretty much asked to suck it up to the loss. What made me even more annoyed was that this CSR closed the ticket for further comments, and asked me to submit a new ticket if I had another issue.

This CSR told me that the items can be lost if I don't retrieve the items from the vendor stockroom within a few days. Let me remind you, that I only placed that bag of resources in the stockroom for at most 5-10 minutes. This is laughable.

Why should I have to continue paying for a service that I am not even getting? Why am I being asked to suck up to the bug that never gets addressed, and then be slapped on my face? Do they even realize how much effort, money, and time were spent to gather all those resources?

I, as a paying customer, am not obligated nor required to be penalized for annoying bugs like this. If they can't fix it back to the way it was, at least show me some sort of signs that they are trying their best to help me or compensate me for the loss. But no, all I get is something in the line of "I am sorry, I know how terrible you feel right now, but we can't help you. Case closed." Their lack of care clearly showed when they closed my ticket for further comments. I had to create another ticket.

This item disappearance bug has got to be addressed. Players have to let SOE know that this is unacceptable. There have never been a single day that I was not afraid of losing all my belongings to nasty bugs like this. I am always in fear of losing something and never getting them back. That fear has come to a reality this morning.

SWG is a fun game, but the bugs are just way too many and they are beginning to annoy me. With the game like this that has the highest monthly subscription fees, I have every right to demand for a fix, let alone some attempts for compensation. Never ever had I had so many bad experiences wih bugs in other games, this is just sick.

Same thing happened to me when I was moving items from one vendor to another. It's BS and yet there isn't anything that SOE will do.

Your bag will most likely be where you left after the next server boot.

Wow I guess this bug is a common thing going around and punishing lot of other people who don't deserve it.

Foxana, the bag that I lost wasn't in the building, but it was lost while trying to retrieve it from the vendor stockroom. So no, it is not gonna reappear and it is lost forever. I have periodically checked my stockroom every morning when I log in, just to see if the item has come back. Now that 3 CSRs all told me they can't do a thing about it, I gave up hope.

If this kinda nonsense happens to me one more time, I am really gone for good. I will suck it up for now, but second time is not acceptable for me. At that point, I will never ever buy any products from SOE again.

Yup, can't do too much about it. I lost around (calculated) up to 40 mil in a factory that had 20+ days of maint and power in it. I had a lot of Brandy in the output hopper, heaps of great resources in the input hopper and stuff. Same thing happened to 3 or 4 guildies and every CSR ticket just got them a "Sorry we can't validate what you lost" and receive a tiny or no compensation. You just have to learn to deal with it. I almost quit SWG because of it and I know of 2 people that actually did quit SWG because of it.

I think I'm going to quit SWG sometime soon, having a huge birthday celebration and a weekend of a music festival in the forest has made me re-evaulate my loves in life *again*. Just think the past few months has been fine with spending a lot of spare time in SWG, now it's time to not be playing a game so much anymore. Theres so much to do and I might have burnt myself out crafting for many hours a day (actual crafting, checking factories, vendors, deliveries = my crafting definition).

All gone. Nothing to see now. Bye Bye Ahazi most of you guys were cool
