Thread: Better Stats = higher prices?

Back a few months ago (before the changes), I was selling my food based on buff and charge. The better the buff/charge the higher the price.

I was talking with a guild-mate and he was telling me that the usual cost of food was set. Is this true?

You mean to tell me that if I make brandy at +415 for 40 minutes with 20 charges, I have to sell at the same price as some jerk-holo-grinder that sells +100/10/2?!?!

If I am off my rocker, please inform me. I feel I put in the work to make high quality foods for my customers, and myself. Shouldn't I be compensated for my extra love and care?

I understand that, in the end, it balances itself out. If you buy +200 for 10k, or charge 20k for +400, you could techinically buy two of the +200 and get the same thing. But obviously it's the difference in filling and charge as well.

Thanks all

im pretty sure your off your rocker. I mean if a holo grinder has crappy stats and sells them for say 250k a crate, and you have your 420/40/20 brandy listed and 300k+ im pretty dang sure people will go to you, all my prices are based on quality and i do great. So no offence to your guild mate but he is wrong. BTW im on corbantis so this is how the food is doing on that server, might be differnt for yours, not sure.

He might have meant something a little different.

If I am making +400 brandy with my current resources and some new resources appear so that I can make +420 I will probably not raise my price.

Some new fungi just spawned for me on Tempest. My BE Thaktillo just went up about 10 points. I'm not going to raise my price on that. This works the same the other way though. If I happened to run out of that fungi(maybe in like a year ). I will probably not lower my price either. The cost of the resources stay relatively the same and the cost of me finding the best out there stays about the same.

I've always sold based on buff and duration. And with the revamp, I also figure in Filling. Just made more sense to me that way So, no, I don't think you're off your rocker.

How on earth did you get a quantity of 22? I was under the impression that a cask gives a 3x multiplier. I'm no math professor, but I'm fairly certain that 22 is not divisible by 3.

You can't be talking BE brandy at 20-30k a crate. Time its takes to make it is about that. Selling to friends at that price...maybe, selling to everyone....will never believe it unless you are wanting to take a huge loss. Maybe I misunderstood.

I pay 30-35k per crate of medium BE additives... does that answer the question?

My non-BE Brandy goes for 30k a crate, the BE enhanced stuff for 140k.

I'm not a holo grinder... but until I can make a certain level of quality, I refuse to sell my stocks for anything higher than 75 credits/unit, regardless of quality. That'll change as soon as I can hit Cooking II (and I'm climbing that tree along with mixology)since that should give me decent quality, and I can start charging... but for now, I think that that's as cheep as I dare go since I have to maintain some upkeep. Otherwise, I'd just give it away.
