So we all know the devs don't have time to make any real improvements to chef so here's one idea that wouldn't take any effort whatsoever but would (in my mind at least) make things a lot easier - make casks take ANY kind of gemstone, not just crystaline. I know I know, it's not like it takes quality or anything but it's still hard to find lots of. The reasoning would be:
1. there's tons of trash amorph gemstoneout there no one wants
2. it would allow us to use recycled gemstone.
Anyways, just a thought. Don't know if everyone else would think it was a terrible idea though.

Love it. It has one flaw though. By doing this, they would in effect make one of out mundane tasks easier (collecting resources) and by the recent discussions here they are wanting to add more tasks, not reduce them.

Aw, s***. I just collected a bunch of amorphous gemstone because I DIDN'T READ THE SCHEMATIC correctly. It says very clearly, "Crystalline Gemstone."
Oh, that's marvelous.
/laugh self
Anyone want to buy a bunch of amorphouse gemstone? No? Who uses this stuff anyway?

i dbe happy letting us recycle the crystalline gemstone. i have a ton of stack sof 25k that im to lazy to split up a run of trim and use up. making em into nice 75k stacks would be soooo nice
Amph gemstone is use dby weaponsmiths i think or armorsmiths cant remember but they need high qualitity stuff most of the time

Well, you can use it in Large glasses, that only requires "gemstone" of any type.
It looks like armorsmiths could use it, although they'd probably want good stats (probably SR / UT, although I can't find details handy). Some jewelry schems in tailor use it. Architects require 1000 units of "gemstone" (any type) for gungan head statues. I think those are still the grind item of choice for Architects, so if it's poor quality stuff you may find a market with them.

I totally agree that they shouldn't make chef easy but meh, this doesn't seem like it'd really save that much time and what not - and there really is too much amorph out there with no real market for it. Well, I suppose somebody out there uses glasses but I really don't see why...

I just wish they'd make it so all subcomponents with no stats are interchangeable like casks.
