Just found out I cannot "inspire" myself with entertainer skills and with Coronet always dead on my server, this means I have to fly somewhere and back to craft. I was already worn out from crafting so much and now it just got more tedious. Thank you ever so much.
Hope this will be fixed soon or I might have to do something drastic like give up chef altogether. I know, I know--cry more noob (CMN) but I have to vote a nay on the new buff system.

Yeah, guess I'm lucky my alt is my dancer. I finally used her respec though to get novice musician so I can do all buffs just cause it annoys me to only have some.
Still, buffs last like 3.5hours with a master dancer so that's a nice long session of crafting.

I have an alt that is Master BE and Master Smuggler and was enjoying taking part in the GCW with base takedowns....guess I will have to make him a complete aid to my chef and give up what little fun I was having other than crafting. I can still use the BE to do some of that but was enjoying the smuggler part as well. Master BE/Master Dancer just isn't my cup of tea though.

If it works like the other inspiration buffs then the timer should freeze when you log out, so it'd be 3.5 hours of straight crafting, which might last a few days.

Unless you craft artisan foods too, which means you are busy switching between buffs as you craft.

/nod. that is what convinced me to get an alt to novice dancer, instead of just go to the cantina, cuz i switch all the time.

What's so bad on going for a walk a bit. It doesn't hurt to just go to a cantina and watch to a dancer. You might find something interested or something good might happen. You never know
hehe. That's just from my point of view.

Ok ok....let's just ease up here. No reason to attack these guys for not wanting to have to go get a different buff every hour. How they play the game is entirely up to them. They are not "ruining" anything for anyone else.
Pre-CU, I stocked 68 different foods in crates, partial crates and singles. I had 17 factories going nonstop with BE additives, subcomponents and final product. I had 7 different food vendors with more than 2000 CRATES for sale at any given time. In order to keep up with demand, I had to put in at least 3 hours a day. Now post-Cu things are a little bit different, but not much. Chef is still a LOT of work. We cant use static harvester fields to collect our resources like all the professions that use mineral and chemical can. Our resource requirements are ridiculously varied, and the amount of time that running a successful Chef industry can take is astounding.
To combat this, every Chef establishes certain routines. Because of this new patch, they now have to add a new step into their routine. Several steps in fact, since most successful Chefs craft both Artisan and Chef foods. Having to stop what you are doing to go and find an entertainer is NOT something that should be required. I have been against this buff idea from the beginning, because it basically turns Entertainers into pre-CU buffing docs. I wont debate that here....it is over and done with.
But the point is, this is an extra step that was not needed before. Chef already takes a lot of work, having to track down a live entertainer in addition to managing everything else can be a bit frustrating. These guys are voicing their concern, as they have every right to.

Good idea, crappy implementation, as always.
If they could sell these buffs almost like how we do, that would be a little better eh?Like a jukebox playing a recorded song or holo of a dancer? But having to run back and forth between your crafting shop and an entertainer is just a time sink. Hardly content or the type of positive reinforcement action I thought they were going for. This is much more along the lines of what you said, pre-CU Doc buffs. Sure, you're not held at gunpoint to get these buffs, and if you don't want to make the trip you don't have to and you'll have lost nothing... But thats not really the whole picture is it.
I'm not sure how I would rather they have this interaction. It seems to me like a quick fix 'bandaid' on the fast decline of the entertainer profession. They took away BF because it forced people to find them instead of people wanting to go find them. That interaction really hasn't changed, instead its crafters that are 'forced' instead of combat types.
Its really tough to balance the combat players with the social players, especially when the majority of the playerbase is combat-centered. They need to put some more Social Content in before Dancers and Musicians really have a chance to shine. But thats not going to happen because its low priority since most of the players don't want that, Catch-22.
*COUGH*SABACC*COUGH*HOLOCHESS*COUGH*
Having to switch buffs for what you're crafting is just sloppy implementation though.
Two thumbs down.

Thats why you need to find an entertainer to come to you. Hell, if someone made a nice offer i wouldn't mind a trip to a crafter's place.
Though, at the moment I really should be stocking up on asteroid resources for the coming changesto POB ship parts. I'm set to make a lot of money.

I'm used to crafting my stuff all at the same time, chef/artisan foods and meds.. That's three trips to the cantina in an hour or so.. Yeah, need to find a travelling band or an alt..
