Thread: Hmm Just for clarification

I was reading the FAQ as I usually do when researching aspects of the chef profession, and I noticed it said, the quality of sub ingredients doesn't matter at all? So just to clear this up (and sorry if it's been asked already) that means that foods requiring smaller parts, such as alcohol, bantha butter (milking banthas is hard work :/) casks, etc can all be made with the crudiest materials and it affects the final product in no adverse way? (the final product having used quality ingredients of course)

That's true, the quality of the resources used in subcomponents no longer affects the final food. I've played around with several quality ranges with dough, carbosyrup, alcohol, bantha butter (once I got my hands on some milk) and soypro and as long as I used the same resources in the final item, the stats were identical before experimenting. Well,as long as the assembly success type was the same.
The same is also true when actual food items are used as components (veghash in vegeparsine, pastebread in cavaellian creams and sweesonberry rolls). So if you're doing a run of Vegeparsine, you can use the crappiest cereal and vegetables you have for the soypro and veghash, the worst flora for carbosyrup, and the quality of the final combine will be determined only by how good the tubers are.
Component quality did matter pre-revamp, so you may have come across some outdated information.

Your assumptions and research are correct. Resources used in subcomponents do not matter, ie: Protato, Soypro, Alcohol, Sweet Cake Mix, Dough, Carbosyrup, Bantha Butter, Pastebread, glasses, etc etc. This was changed with the revamp.

thank you both very much! this really saves me time in resource hunting. Imagine having to wait for "good" bantha milk

Ok, I accept that I have a hard time spotting jokes on forums, even the smily isn't helping, so forgive me if this is a pointless post:
You do know that you don't have to use bantha milk for bantha butter, right? Any milk will work.
You have to understand, I worked tech support for many years, and even though I got out of it a while ago I'm still in the habit of assuming people don't know what they're doing until they prove otherwise. The real problem breaking out ofthat assumption is that it turns out to be right in so many situations...
