I've always wondered which would be better to experiment in: Filling or Flavor. They basically both effect wether you can have a continuos buff from your food or drink. I did that math (hopefully right...lol) and figured I'd share.

Decay Rate
45m/100% (45 minutes to decay 100%)

2700s/100% (2700 seconds to decay 100%)

27s/% (27 seconds to decay 1%)

For example, I'll be using Thakitillo, as it cannot be continuosly stacked forever (in my case anyways ), to emphasize what should be done, or done first if both are to be done.

Thakitillo

Base Stats:

Flavor: 10m 12s

Filling: 45%

Stats after 1 point into each category (great success):

Flavor: 10m 57s (45 seconds gained)

Filling: 44% (1 filling)

Analysis

The filling change can be converted in a time frame since we have the ratio determined. 1% = 27 seconds gained. So a point into filling will be a gain in 27 seconds, while a point into flavor will be a gain in 45 seconds.

Winner: Flavor

Conclusion

If your looking for a continuos buff, or close to continuos, and are looking for the best way to use your experimentation points, make a test sample to try out the experimentation increase values.

RULE: For every experimentation point you spend in flavor, make sure your gaining at least a 27 second bonus, so long as for every experimentation point you spend in filling your getting a 1% decrease.

Hope this helped someone...I got bored waiting for a factory to finish up

I've noticed with just about everything that you get more for the exp point from flavor rather than filling. However if you plan to take multiple foods then filling becomes more important than flavor. This is a very specific situation though, and that is PvP. You want to be at your best for that PvP encounter or you die. I am in the process of putting together some PvP packs and wanted to stack multiple food and drinks. To do that I needing to bring down the filling so they can be all taken at once. In that case you get about a 15 minute boost to different things. Without the filling exp, you couldn't take them all. This is about the only time exp in filling makes sense, other than those annoying brandies that are 51%.

That 27sec per percent is a good number to keep in mind.
