Sweeet!

Awesome info, thanks a million.

You gave me feedback so I guess I'll give you some.

I bought thikatillowhile back with +90 (i thought it was standard) then just recently noticed I had a +40 from my last purchase. During PVP, Idid notnotice a difference between either, the+40 kept me up just as good as the +90. I dueledmy BH friend and even then, he could not KD me with +40,it could be though that my template is TKM and I have enough defense against KD that he +40 caps me. I'll have tolook into that.

If that holds true, with my template I should be looking at quantity over quality. PVP does not last as long as most of us hope it does, so I may need duration and quantity to be experimented on.

Anyhow, thanks again for the help....now off to the TKM boards to see my defense against KD.

Well, I guess it depends on your template and your "natural" Defense vs. KD.

The defense skills are a little fuzzy on how they work, but here's my take on it:

1) No matter what skills you or your opponent have, a knockdown attack has someminimum chance of succeeding (I believe 5% or 10% was a number given by the devs), but this may not hold up in practice.

2) When the attacker executes a KD special, there is some "effectiveness" value depending on their skill and/or the special used. This is similar to the "potency" of CM poisons: it's the chance of the attack succeeding against a defenseless target.

3) If the defender has Defense vs. KD, the defense value is subtracted from the attack's "effectiveness", giving the final percent chance of the state succeeding. If the defense is greater than the attack effectiveness, the defender has to worry only about the minimum chance of success.

What makes it hard to analyze is that the "effectiveness" value of the attacks isn't something that is visible. Sure, unarmedknockdown2 is probably more effective than unarmedknockdown1, but by how much?

I'm not that familiar with all the combat professions, would the BH's attackbe considered the "toughest" knockdown special? If so, if +40 (on top of your natural defense) works, I'd say stick with unenhanced Thakitillo (it'll be cheaper) or get duration/quantity/filling enhancements rather than buff size.

I love that stuff but im not too sure on what stats are top notch.

Can you experiment on duration vs points on KD defense? and if so, is there a big difference.I'm on radiant and will be looking for a special order of one huge ass crate of 50 instead of running around with 10 small5 crate packs.. but before Iplace and order,I'd like to be more educated about myoptions.

Chef's can experiment on Filling, duration, buff size, and stack size. Generally, we get the most benefit per point spent focusing on buff size, but duration isn't too far behind.

For Thakitillo, your options look something like this:

Filling: 50-33 (reduce filling about 1 per point spent)

Duration: 9-18m (gain about 30s per point spent)

Buff: +30 to 50 (gain about +1.4 per point spent)

Quantity: generally 1 (although spending 2-3 points may get it to 2 per stack)

The numbers given are without a BE additive.A heavy nutrition additive would make the buff range 64 - 107 (+3 per point spent), a heavy duration would make the duration 15 - 30m (gain about 1m per points spent).

A master chef has 10 points to spend (11 or 12 if they have skill tapes). And they don't start from the minimum, the initial assembly would probably put the stats at around 47 filling, 11m, +35 Defense vs. knockdown.

Your best bet would probably to find a knowlegable Radient chef, and let them know roughly what your looking for (15m duration or +90 defense, etc). They can do some experimenting to see how close they can get.
