There are rumors running around about upcoming change to mind cost.
It won't cost mind as much in combat thus people won't require Brandy and Canape as much..
Can anyone confirm ?

/shrug. Best not to talk about it considering most likely rumors will be the answer to your question based on rumors
.
But in theory, the Combat Reblanace will hopefully just do that, balance, and make it so a fight isn't dependant on how big your mind bar is.

Which may make other foods more popular, such as vercupti, tho it isn't that ignored now.

Making Brandy >400 mind@ 45+ minis fairly easy..
Making vercuptti at 50 fills require 920+ DR on all resources and thats harder tofind.
So even if we still sell vercuptti we wont be able to sell as many as brandy and canape all together.
With Doc buffs,they rarely use vercuptti..

lots of rumors...very few facts...the only things that the devs have said about this is that they want the mind pool to be less important in PvP/PvE
to this end some of the things that have come up are:
1) specials can no longer target the mind pool (swordsmen/riflemen would get a major overhaul due to this)
2) specials costs would be reworked (including stim usage) so that mind costs were not the most important
thats about all the devs have stated...nothing firm tho...just some things that they want to do.
other things they may do:
1) mind poisons/diseases/fire either changed or removed
2) DoT weapons nerfed
3) doctor buffs altered (I'm only saying this because doc buffs are the only reason why mind buffs are so important)
4) armor "nerf"...they've already stated that they want more than just composite to be useful for PvP...and that composite is simply "too useful"...making armor like RIS...utterly worthless except for decoration/looks.
theres also the GCW revamp that they claim will affect everyone and give all professions a role in the GCW...tho some roles are going to be very very ackward in terms of being fitted in (dancers/musicians/chefs/scouts(not rangers)/merchants/entertainer).

Well The devs obviously never took into effect that armor could reach this high. Think about it, i did the rebel themepark a week ago and gota pair of ubese armor pants with 20% resists but it had like a Def. vs, Stun Stat on it and something else. While useful stats, 20% kinetic is useless, i sold them off on the trade forums. People walk around out there with 90% composite armor, that means 90% of damage gets blocked, add PSG's to that, you are untouchable. Ive seen uber dudes battle for 10 minutes straight and neither one of their stats dropped below 80% at any given time! They were spamming specials ALL day long, the tka was doing unarmed3 over and over and over and it cost him -2 mind to perform (had massive focus willpower i guess)
Not to mention also, ALL day long ive been looting weapons with Damage over times, and while alot of them have been action poison lately, still a bunch of mind damage ones drop. More than usual. i have 25+ on my vendor now. Alot of stat'd weapons too, +4 terrain negotiation and like some with a ranged defense mod etc.
Anyway, What can be done about Mind. If we give people the ability to heal their own mind, Combat medic's usefulness in battle using /healmind may get phased out (although no one has sympathy for them), After the hologrind is over soon, How Many dedicated Entertainers will be in the cantina? I dont know the answer but it has to be way less than half of the current crowd. What can be done? add a mind stim for any player with novice medic the ability to use? I believe there is a spice in the works to reduce the effects on poisons and diseases by up to 80% for 10 minutes. What else can really be done? I doubt they are gonna take away mind Moves for rifleman and swordsman.
I Myself, am a master Doctor/Combat Medic on one of my accounts, My ONLY defense is poison, and marksmen 4004 which gives me the ability to use a rifle? My Weapon of choice? The Jawa Ion Rifle Krayt Enhanched, Sure it cost me 7million to make with krayt tissues, BUT i can throw a Mind Poison at a GROUP of people, and in 30 seconds they will ALL be crippled mind-wise, and i can take my stun rifle out, use /mindshot1 with a /aim and macro it to target everyone and BAM i am looking at 10 dead players, go around and deathblow them all, and with my 90% resists armor and doctor abilities, i am untouched. Players cant even Use Specials once the poison gets their mind too low because they have no pool points to use a special. Using 1000 Tick Spider venom mind area poison, Everyone has 0 mind in seconds and all i need to do is fire one shot to finish them off. Like i walk around overt as a rebel at all times, i have been covert i weeks, and i havent died ONCE in weeks, For gods sake, i can throw poison at 90 meters and through walls! I never Make the first move and attack anyone, Just make the last move.
This is how grossly overpowered people are, BUT THIS CAN BE FIXED! Mind Spice and Better Foods! Perhaps a food to reduce poison infection. It is going to take a serious combat balance to fix people like me lolol. How Bout Better Attachments! i for example have a Aakuan Belt and Shirt That have +20 Poison Resistance, (even though im a doc and can heal poison in a second, sometimes its bugged and ill still get a 800+ instant mind tick), I also have another +25 in Poison resistance from 2 attachments i bought that someone looted from the corvette. I think i have around +48 to poison resitance, i resist literally 50% of all throws of poisons, Make more of these attachments available!. Make better Food!
