Thread: To use BE or not to use BE, That is the question
Im a chef with not to much money at the moment and want to know if there are any foods/drinks I can produce and sell that dont need BE additives. I wa thinking of foods that I dont really need a be additives for and I came up with these possible foods. Now correct me if im wrong.
--Air cake
--Veghash
--Bespin Port
--Smugglers Delight
--Pyollian Cake
--Ithorian Mist
If you feel these items NEED BE Additives let me know, or if there are other foods that are sellable w/o be additives let me know as well.
Well, first off, i think that all crafting foods do need BE, as crafters are probably the most affluent of all people they are going to be willing to pay for the best.
The best things for non BE i have found are
Almond Munchies- Virtually no resource use and +10 CH Taming unBEd
Rakirian Burnout Sauce- +10 Unarmed dmg, like a whole box in unarmed extra! and low resources again
Dweezle- Adds up to the equivalent of 2 boxes to trapping! It makes a MASSIVE difference
Chandad- Another cheap non BE prof grinding food, in this case Survey
These sell well but try Air Cake, Syn Steak, Veghash, maybe tho rangers tend again to buy the best. Smugglers delight dunno, but for the investment it needs in terms of milk i always BE mine.
I also sell quite a bit of ormachek and you can't even enhance that food with BE, so that might be another option for you. ![]()
I can afford the be additives off of one good sale of a large brandy crate, but I also want some cheaper options to sell in the meantime, inbetween my larger orders as well as to give my vendor some variety w/o driving me into the hole.
More suggestions from others would be great =)
Another thing you might want to try is getting a non-master BE to make you some additives for below market rates. When I first mastered Chef, I was in a similar position to you, and one thing that helped enormously was buying cheap, 'substandard' additivesfrom aspiring BEs. They get some money to help them out with the grind, you get to make some foods that are very nearly as good as the best around. And, you may find yourself with a very good relationship with a master BE in a few weeks time, which again lets you both profit from each other ![]()
If you do this, the key is to stick to food/drinks where the buff 'number' is quite low. The lower the numbers, the closer you can get to the 'best'. Examples of foods I made using cheap additives are Veghash (+30), Ithorian Mist (+20), Pyollian Cake (+13), that sort of stuff. Stuff like Brandy, where the buff is several hundred, you keep your best additives for, since a few points off in the additive will make a big difference in the buff.
Even once your BE hits Master, their heavy additives probably won't be up to par to begin with - but you can make Bespin Port to match the best with substandard additive, as +12 is about the max even for BE-enhanced stuff.
I'm afraid I can't give you useful advice on how to establish this relationship in the first place, I was lucky enough to be approached be the BEs in question. Anyway, I hope this helps a little ![]()
