It would depend on how much they are selling for, but generally I would say yes.

There are two processes for the crafting process. The first is when you mix your ingredients together to make your item. The second is when you apply your experimentation points.

Food assembly affects the first part of the process. The higher your food assembly skill, the better chance you will have a good or great success before applying experimentation points.

ok thanks

i got a +11 for 950k suppose that is good enough.

another thing while experimenting is it better to use the points one at a time or all at once? does this make a big difference to the finished product?

Thanks Talonn

Yes it does...but both has it's advantages and disadvantages.

If you put in a few at a time, this increases your chances of getting a good success. It also adds to the complexity of the item. The higher the complexity, the longer it takes to craft in a factory or your crafting tool.

If you put them in all at once, you have a bigger chance of failing, but if you do succeed you will be able to churn them out faster in your factory.

If you make cooking IV or master chef, I would just put them in all at once. When you are at that level, chances are you will get a good success the first time.

Im still confused on how it all stacks.

If I had +25 food assembly clothing

FS crafting line +20

Research Center +15

Bespin Port +10

Is there a cap? What adds up together, what nullifies? Can you really possibly get +70 to assembly?

Well:

1) Research centers and bespin port don't add to assembly, they add to experimentation. Manufacturing centers and Pyollean cake add to assembly.

2) Yes, they all should stack (although it's still a little unclear on how much difference each makes in actual practice). Cap from skill boxes is +100 (since that's all you get at Master). Cap from clothing attachments is +25 (across your entire outfit). City bonuses are +15, IIRC. Bespin port can definitely hit +11 or 12, and might be able to hit higher. Pyollean cake can get up to around...I dunno, +15 maybe (been a while since I made any). Force skills stack on top of all of those.

Now, the big question is why would you want all that assembly. From what I've seen, you get the same starting values whether you get a "great" or "amazing" success on assembly. Although some people say that they get better experimentation with an amazing assembly. Critical failures aren't that big of a deal since we're not using 100k or 1million creditloot components.

If you meant Food Experimenation, that's a different wrinkle. Experimentation points are determined only by your actual "Food Experimentation" skill mod, so for that you're capped at +100 from boxes and +25 from tapes for a total of +125 (12 points). Bespin Port, research centers, and FS crafting only increase your chances of an amazing success (which do give a benefit when crafting food), they don't give more points.

Im sorry, did not mean assembly. I meant as far as when experimenting, and trying to get the amazing successes. I have the experimentation covered and I have read that amazing assembly is borked for chefs. I just want to get as many amazing successes with as little trial and error as possible.

regardless of any skills you have you still have a 5% chance of a critical failure. I have done alot of crafting professions and that 5% seems to be more like 20%. I have read alot of posts on the subject and those that have the mods (assembly or experimentaion, beyond being a 12 point) doesn't seem to mater that much. There are those who will argue that it does but with SWG's randomality there is no perfect way to get amazings or a better product.

I agree with the last poster, I have gotten amazing assemblies and there is no difference that I can tell from a great success.

amazing success in experimentation does help alot but I have tried the tricks and still they are allusive.
