Thread: some noob chef/be questions.
Chef related-
1.) If im using a cask (largest working glass as i understand) do the stats on the resources matter? like i need 900OQ+ gemstone to get 18 uses? or would say 80OQ gemstone work?
2.) Same as question 1 but for dough and soypro and alcohol do the stats on those matter in the final product?
3.) using the spreadsheet in the link (lists all the resources needed and values and stuff) it lists like 20 vegetables. or 20 cerel. what does that mean? i have rori tubers if it asks for 20 vegetables could i use the tubers? and if i have wheat i could use it for cereal? Is it basically saying anything that counts as a vegetable can be used here (ie beans, tubers, and whatever else is a vegetable?
BE realted-
1.) When gathering meat what stats do i need to look for? PE,OQ, DR what? i cant seem to find anything on the BE forum.
Im sure theres more to come but those are the ones bugging me for now.

Maybe a clearer way to explain it is to point you at the resource tree on swgcraft.com.
Each resource category has sub-categories. If a schematic has a resource requirement that is not a "bottom level" resource (for flora that'd be something like Tatooinian Berry Fruit), then you can use anything below that level.
So your Rori tubers have this "hierarchy":
Organic -> Flora -> Flora Food -> Seeds -> Vegetables -> Vegetable Tubers -> Rori Vegetable Tubers
So you can use that resource in a schematic requiring any of those 7 categories. Tubers count as a vegetable, so you can use these in anything requiring "Vegetables".
Fruit gets a little confusing. The parent categories for Tatooinian Fruit looks like this:
Organic -> Flora -> Flora Food -> Seeds -> Fruit -> Fruits -> Tatooinian Fruit
Note the confusing addition/removal of a final "s" on the last three. If a schematic calls for "Fruit" (with no "s"), you can use Fruits (with an "s"), Berries, or Flowers. If a schematic calls for "Fruits" (with an "s") you can only use Fruits. And if it calls for "Tatooinian Fruit", you have to use "Fruits" (with an "s") harvested on Tatooine; you can't use, say, Tatooinian Flowers.

If you used wood...as mentioned above to make BE additives.....wont that only give you say...33% ... as opposed to using something that has all three stats?... I thought that would have hurt your final result. no?
No, it can come out better, especially if your flora has worse PE/FL than the meat.
It's due to how the crafting system deals with missing stats. You use high OQ wood in the "Organic" slot of the tissue, and flora and meat in the other two. The lack of PE and FL on the wood doesn't bring down the effectiveness, and can end up better than using a flora/meat resource.
It's a little hard to explain. There's a web-based tissue calculator here, maybe playing around with some numbers would help give you a feel for it. Put in some flora/meat stats, then compare the results using those for the organic vs. some wood with just 999 OQ.

Quick questions on using wood for BE tissues...........will any type of the 3 woods work (Conifer, Deciduous, Evergreen)?

Yes. You could use any flora, any meat, any milk, any hides or bones (I think). "Organic" means anything from a creature or harvested with a flora harvester.
