Hey all,

Does Food Assembly Tapes and Pyrollian Cake actually make a difference when crafting?

Thanks for your help

they are said to give you a higher chance of getting "amazings" useful to everyone, but esp. useful when you are not 12 points and do not have the extra points to play aroud with.......

It's correct that it gives a higher chance of amazing assembly... BUT

Assembly success makes absolutely no difference in the stats, the max stats or anything else. Great and even Good success gives the EXACT same result.

So assembly is really of no use at all for a chef.

Just to clarify some things:

  1. +Assembly skill only affects the success rate on the initial combine. It does not (as far as anyone has been able to determine) have any effect during experimentation.

  2. The success type on initial combine determines your starting percentages. A "great success" gives you better starting stats than a "good success" (although I may double check this given Wengel's comment). A "good success" gives better starting stats than a "moderate success", etc.

  3. At Master Chef, I get "great success" on initial assembly probably 90-95% of the time. This is with a +14ish tool and a +42ish station. This is with no +assembly mods other than the +100 from Master chef and the +5 if I'm to be wearing my chef's apron.

  4. An "amazing success" on assembly gives you the same starting percentages and stats as a "Great" success when crafting food.

  5. An "amazing success" on assembly does not increase the max percentages of the item, those are tied 100% to resource stats.

Some less-verified items:

  1. An amazing success may improve your success rate during experimentation. So if you get a great success on assembly, you may be less likely to get amazing successes during experimentation compared to experimenting on an item with an amazing assembly.

  2. I've done some poking around, and the only prof that gets a boost from "amazing success" on assembly appears to be weaponsmith. We don't get one, Artisans don't get one, Armorsmiths don't, BEs don't. Not sure about medics/doctors/CMs.

  3. There are rumors of "critical success" when crafting which give large improvements to the crafted item. In over a year and a half of food crafting, I've never seen one.

A lil side note you may want to conside when doing your Exp stage... in my time as a chef I have documented a much greater increase of amazing success taking lil steps (two or three bubbles on one or to of the stat bars) instead ofcharging a full line or two.... I know this is kind of off subject but useful to try/know.

As far as the extra assembly points I have not noticed any significant diffrerance either way.. Expermentation seems to be the biggest boost either side. Might be nice if they did make a diffrence though.
