Thread: I hate all you Holo Chefs
Why does everyone want to be a Jedi? That's whatI loved about this game last month: NO JEDI. I mean the way you become a Jedi is just retarted. If you master Chef and Droid Engineer you'll be a Jedi because a holocron said so... hah. The system is messed up andI really think the devs need to do something about it. Please people, if you wanna be a Jedi so bad, buy Knights of the Old Republic.
Believe me dude, nobody hates holo-chefs more then the holo-chefs themselves. I was half way to master doctor when my holo said master chef. Has got to be the most boring profession ive tried so far and ive tried more then a few. I plan to grind this profession as fast as possible so i can go back and do something interesting.
I understand why you hate holo-chefs, im a TKM and i hate all the new holo-tka's running around on my server. but instead of giving them a hard time about it i try to help them. the faster they grind out the profession the sooner they can leaveitto those of us who actually enjoy it. instead of leaving posts about how everyone is stupid for trying to get the jedi slot maybe you should give a few tips that will get us out of this forum sooner. besides its not like any holo chef is going to steal your business. holo chefs grind to master then drop the whole profession without selling one piece of food.
Yes the way to open the fscs is retarded but what can you do. thats the way it is. i want the jedi slot as much as anyone else does and ill do what i have to do to get it. if that means i must grind stupid professions like chef then so be it.
Sorry if i seem alittle defensive, been grind all day and my head hurts.
i am a holo chef.
Was master doctor master CH 4,1,4,1 scout also.
Droped CH for chef. As like everyone else i dont enjoy the profession. And matter of fact.. i ahve a greater respect for those poeple who master Chef and keep it. Before i had to do chef i didnt even know that some of these food items where this good. Other than the fact i am a doctor and i dont really use other buffs.. but now i know there is other buffs out there worth having for temperory time when i dont want to use a 2.5 hour buff from my doctor line.
So i think instead of getting all pissy about holo chefs.. you should be happy. Becuase now there is more poeple out there that understand that some of the better food items are worth eating. ANd since holo chefs do drop *like i will* there holo profession you can except poeple to drop some credits on your food.
Sincerly,
Sekkong of Chilastra.
Hell I looove holochefs! The education that this brings in regards to how food works is amasing. Also we have a bunch of new people who might not want to keep chef as a profession but they will likely be telling others 'Hey have you tried food?'
Bring 'em on! Heck I might even have some wheat lying around for the Ithorian Mists (may I never have to make another of those).
Ok now as much as the lame holo's that come in here and repeat posts about macros and such irritate me to no end, we shouldnt be starting posts with hatred in them. If a holo starts up a umpteenth thread with give me a hands free macro or i want all your resources thread feel free to be pissy about it, but starting a thread just to diss the holos make us no better than them. (now when i say them i mean the rude, and condecending holos, there are a few that respect the prof, and actually scour the boards and ask good questions)
Are some of the Holo's that come in here annoying? Sure. but we shouldnt go throwing around blanket statements before they even condem themselves through their own actions. There are plus and minus sides to both sides and people deserve the benifit of the doubt.
Let the annoying ones hang themselves, the rest dont deserve that kind of treatment from us.
Okay Cassius_Kasarum, what was the point of calling this profession "stupid and boring"? It's statements like that that make peaceful well meaning Chefs want to come into your computer room and BishSlap you into next week with a Wok. You don't see me following you into a TK forum and saying you are so lame because somebody can mindbleed and eyeshot you to death in under 10 seconds without you even touching them or some other hurtful comment like you being stupid for being kited by other players and even NPCs.
There is ALWAYS a way to respond to someone without throwing out hurtful messages. Your statement and what I said above are examples of what NOT to do when trying to get you point across. Don't believe for a moment that Holocron Followers getting in a profession, grinding to master, then leaving doesn't effect the profession. That's been discussed in another thread so I won't need to flesh it out here. There's also the "I don't care who I step on" attitude that some of the Holocron'ers show. Now if the Holocron'er said he's seeking to become a darkjedi and then proceded to be a JackHole we'd understand and promptly /ignore, but aren't those that are actually trying to be jedi supposed to be...well...GOOD (not in the 1337 ub3r sense but the "not a JackHole" way). It only takes a little bit of work to come in, ask for assistance respectfully and be pointed in the right direction. Even though I think you'll just be pizzed-off for me calling your name out in this I hope you at least see that saying that stuff about chef was unnecessary.
When it all comes down to it, there a few basic truths in this whole issue.
1. Holo-chefs mean more app points for me - WOOT!
2. Holo-chefs mean more awareness, directly or indirectly, toward the chef profession and more sales for me - WOOT!
3. There is always a segment of every population that istoo stupid to figure out things for themselves.
4. There is always a segment of every population that is too lazy todo work, in this case research the class.
Bottomline? People are people...no matter what we say...no matter what we do...someone is going to come here today...tomorrow...or sometime thereafter and make a post asking how to grind through the profession...and this whole cycle of anger will start over...
Holocrons were and are a mistake...the developers fell way short of an intellectual solution on this one.

These kind of ignorant statements make us hate holochefs, and seeing as you were a holochef it doesn't surprise me that it came from you.
I agree with Phazon, you can't expect to walk into our forum and tell us that our profession sucks then not expect to get "bish slapped" as Phazon put it. Don't you have something better to do with your time Cassius_Kasarum then come into ourboard and piss and moan about how much you hated grinding through chef.
We happen to like the Chef professions so step off! Go back to trying to be a jedi and find something more creative to do with your time then clutter up our forum and alienate alot of the chefs who read your post.
You just count your blessings that Niiki_Nightsister isn't here Cassius_Kasarum, she would really let you have it. ![]()
I am going to recommend that this message thread be closed seeing as how it has absolutly nothing to do with any kind of constructive discussion about being a chef. ![]()
"I mean the way you become a Jedi is just retarted."
No, the way you spell retarded is retarded! ![]()
Just playin.
I don't think Cassius meant the profession itself sucks, just the grind. This is one boring and expensive grind. I totally respect the non-holo chefs for actually wanting chef enough to complete this.
And this does educate the people that didn't buff with food before. Food is an awesome way to buff short term and I'm so glad the food bug finally went away so i don'tneed to buy doc buffs every 3 hours.
The profession has lots of great benefits and you serious chefs are very much needed. Keep up the good work.
ReeseHilsborne, I for one don't care HOW fast it took you to get there. Remember there was a chef forum before you got here and there were master chefs within the first week of Launch which was to me a much more impressive feat. I guess my point that I want to get to YOU is...
"Welcome to Chef. If you find time away from your busy schedule of making credits, could you maybe post with constructive ideas and tips to make the profession better for everyone?"
Every chef gets a chance to boast here; the cool ones make a difference
. Hope to see your actual improvement ideas one day.
