Thread: Help out a noobie Chef?
1, 3) I'm not sure that the xp was ever raised. It's 32k for the first row (both on Live and on TestCenter), which I thought had always been true. Different professions have different xp requirements, so if you had done a combat class, don't expect the xp to be the same.
2) Wastril bread to Mixology II, then Ithorian Mist to master. Well, that's assuming you get through before the revamp goes live. I'd suggest taking a skill box or two in Entrees just to give you recipe options that don't require contianers.

Yes the redo is a huge nerf to a novice chef. No wastril break to make. The other options are much good to get 33k exp. It could be ugly for younger chefs.
In other words....if you have to grind Chef, grind it NOW. As fast as you can...no, wait....FASTER than you can. Otherwise you wont be getting that holo completed.
I think the Wastril -> Mix II -> Ithorian -> Master road is used just because of the simplicity in resource gathering. Ithorian is hands down the best grind schematic, so people go straight up mixology to get to it. Deuterium Pyro in Mix I also gives 100 xp, but requires rice, metal, and reactive gas (completely different resources than they stocked for Wastril).
Gah, math geek mode. Here's some numbers (using practice mode xp for everything):
Method 1 (Wastril -> Mist): Getting to Mix II is 76800xp, requiring 1053 wastril bread. Getting to Master is 742400xp requiring 4171 Mists.
Total number of combines: 5224
Method 2 (Wastril -> Stewed Gwouch -> Mist): Getting to Entrees I is 32000xp, requiring 439 Wastril. Getting to Mix II is 76800xp, requiring 732 Gwouch. Getting to Master is 710400xp, requiring 3992 Mists.
Total number of combines: 5164
Method 3 (Wastril -> Deuterium -> Mist): Getting to Mix I is 32000xp, requiring 429 Wastril. Getting to Mix II is 44800xp, requiring 427 Pyros. Getting to Master is 742400xp, requiring 4171 Mists.
Total number of combines: 5027
So you craft the minimum number items with method 3, assuming you can get 6405 units each of Rice, reactive gas, and metal. Method 2 would work, since if you plan ahead you'reharvesting water for Mists anyway, and you can use the same fruit and cereal you were grinding Wastrils with at Novice. Method number 1 is the easiest to explain to holochefs. ![]()
