I tried, and failed. You invited me back, and I came. This patch has caused what used to be a rather nice community to fall into serious disrepair, and I cannot bear it. Just reading through the entries to see what I will be facing with these changes is.... well... sickening. Not because of the changes, themselves, but because of the attitudes. It was a month or two last time, perhaps another month or two will allow the current situation to resolve. Until then, I bid you all adieu.

You asked us what it was we liked about our profession. I'm a chef. (<== that's a period) Patch or no, I'll be a chef. Bugs or no, I'll be a chef. I'll see for myself when it hits how to live with this one, just as we all (those who have been around) learned to deal with all the other little (and not so little) setbacks. I truly do not envy you this current batch of culinary artists, SirVimes, and wish you luck in keeping them civil.

Yeah:

Old: "This +450 Mind Fishak is great! Buy it!"

New: "This +136 Vasarian Brandy is great! Sure, not as great as the old Fishak, but you don't really have a choice."

The unforunate thing is that many on this board are taking the attitude "I want a 1,000 point buff to mind, and nothing else will be acceptible" instead of saying "give me the best you've got". Because when it comes down to it, a +450 buff is still better than no buff at all - right? And if someone has a choice between +450 and +0... which are they going to choose?

I think the food buffs will be more popular than people think, the general public just has to be re-educated on what is good and usefull.

Every one in the peanut gallery is just seeing all their old foods vanish but they arn't seeing the new stuff that is coming out for them.Every chef who can remember the first few months when no one would buy food will remember what it was like, this is no different.

People just have to unlearn what they have learned

It will be ok, give it some time to get used to the new stuff and you will like it too.
