Hi all, my first post here as a Master Chef, though i've been following the board for quite a while now...

My question to you all is: are you crafting lots of stuff now (or are planning to do so, since SOE said that pre-patch food will work) OR are you holding on to your resources and waiting for the big publish?

Where do you all think the big money will be after the patch? Extinct pre-patch food or the new ones?

btw, I'm on Bloodfin

Well I suggest do a big load of fishak if you are just in it 'for the money'. They are in high demand and will be needed until the combat revamp happens. After that, midn buffs won't be in need. I'm mainly hoarding the resources and doing a couple runs because several people are asking me for crates of food.

I think most people have been hoarding resources and only doing runs for customers/friends orders only recently.

All gone. Nothing to see now. Bye Bye Ahazi most of you guys were cool

Guess it depends which camp you are in. Id stopped production due to the bug, but after the notice it was fixed I started getting orders from people..and they are wanting to stock up. I dont really like the revamp enough to hold back my resources for it. Im just careful to inform people placing hoard orders about the possibility of the filling of old stuff being very high.

Also done a few runs to build stock. I didn't realise the crate issue was fixed - that is certainly good news. Did I read that right?

If so, I will definetly run 2-3 more full factory runs of Fishak before the changes hit - give myself a solid 80-100 cases.

SV posted he was told it was fixed on internal test today..someone mentioned they thought that meant it would probably hit test tomorrow. So I guess chefs can see it and believe there tomorrow

People will stock up on old stuff because they want to be able to be the uber fighters they were w/ prepatch food. Thats the only reason we're really seeing a lot of this negative reaction, because the combat professions that want to be able to solo anything in the game and spam their most expensive special every second don't want to lose this ability. I am making one more run of glazed glucose for a customer, then some tat suns, then I'm probably done till the patch hits.

I realize you are smarter than the rest of us poor toons thatt cant hold a candle to your staggering intellect but consider for a sec that we can still do that with a Docs buffs it just makes your Prof useless and takes away from my play time.

But i guess wanting to be able to play the game in a manor that is already made avalible multiple ways by the other gods at SoE without being forced to pay in real life time. With the currant food buffs i am alowed to trade my in game Credits for RL time and that is all this nerf is taking away from me.

But then we can tell by your post that you know better than me anyhow

I just got Master Chef tonight with my other account after a 3 day grind (my mouse is still recovering) and I'm going to stockpile resources and wait. No use trying to figure out the current system while the new one is just around the corner. So I'm being a farmer and surveying like a madman to find the good resources.

Imagine that. Combat characters strive to be as effective as possible at combat, and consider anything that reduces thier combat ability ot be a nerf. Isn't that pretty much the very definition of a nerf? Isn't the value of a buffing class based on how much effectiveness they add to thier customers?

If, as the above paragraph implies, you honestly believe food shouldn't be able to help combat classes fight considerably better, why are you even participating in this discussion? It sounds to me like you believe Chefs have been targetted for a deserved nerf, meanwhile in other posts you're claiming how great the new foods will be for combat. Which is it? Are they an upgrade (hence furthering a combat char's ability to "solo everything in the game") or are they a needed nerf as you suggest above (reducing the ability to be an "uber fighter")? It seems you're so gung ho about this patch you'll use mutually exclusive arguments in favor of it. Why?

Whoah - easy Jereki & Ciirybeccaskyr.

I think what Jerecki was saying was that it would be worth while to stockpile on the old foods since they will still be in demand (and then explain why). That's it. No need to flame him for that.

His comment about "...because the combat professions that want to be able to solo anything in the game and spam their most expensive special every second don't want to lose this ability...." is justification to continue to produce the "old" foods. I don't think he's harshly slamming the powergamer. I'm going to do the same thing... for as long as this combat system is in, there will be demand for the old Fishak. No problem there. When the new system goes in, who knows what use the old Fishak will have... maybe none.
