Thread: Good flowers rare?

Are some foods rare? I have yet to find any good flowers on tubers on sunrunner for the past few months.

yeah seems like that on shadowfire too. I've been having the most trouble finding fruits, flowers and tubers

It may also be just the luck of the server.
I have so many good fruits I'm running out of places to put them. I've never lacked for good tubers or greens either. But berries, flowers, and wild wheat are hard to find with any kind of quality to them. Especially flowers.
I know some good stuff has spawned in the past, so I'm not sure there are hard caps on flora the way there are on some minerals. But you'd think, with 10 different kinds of each type spawning at once, we'd get lucky more often!

On lowca, we got in a shift of OQ 964/ PE 567/FL 538 flowers. I had a friend that had specifically been requesting Ahrisa harvest me some, and lo and behold, he brought me about 1.5 mil of it. I'm making about 410/45 minutes roughly Ahrisa with it.
As for tubers, a while back, we got in some REALLY nice ones on Lowca on rori that were OQ 924/PE 995/FL 800. I pulled roughly 3 mil of that when it was in shift.
We've been pretty lucky since I became chef and even last week, we got a shift of OQ 1000 Evergreen soft wood. Using this stuff in Additives, it goes in as 1000/1000/1000 because NO PE OR FL!
Just keep an eye on the stats that matter even when it's capped. I'm pretty happy with the flowers that I found almost by accident. Normally, I wouldn't touch anything with those stats, but since it's capped at 700, it works out to be pretty good stuff.

When swgcraft opened up their database for remote searches (or download of their database, can't remember the details) someone did some analysis on the reported stats for different categories and determined that not all resources have a full 1-1000 value range for all their stats.

The thrid post has a listing of the major resource types, and the determined mins/maxes. I'm not sure if that's 100% comprehensive, but a few details can be noted:
Flowers have a cap of 700 PE.
Wild cereals (rice, oats, corn, wheat) also have a cap of 700 PE.
Tubers don't show any caps, although that could mean that there wasn't enough data to determine any.

Nevermind, I did a quick search of out-of-spawn tubers, and it looks like there aren't any caps. On sunrunner,there used to be some 999 DR stuff, some 1000 FL stuff, and some 990+ OQ/PE stuff. So it's just a matter of waiting for the random selection to come out in your favor. Having to depend on four stats makes it a little harder to get those "really nice" resources.
It's also possible that the random stat selection is "weighted" so that higher value are less common, although I don't know if there's been any real analysis to confirm that.

Farstar seriously needs a good berry spawn. We've got some nice flowers, tubers and okish greens in spawn now, and the best tat tubers that have spawned in monthes. But we haven't has a passable berry spawn in about 4 monthes 
.
Also i'd kill for a uber dath carn meat spawn, as both a chef and a BE it'd be a god send.

on ahazi we had some flowers spawn with PE - 700 /OQ oq 949, /DR 991 /FLAV 534 
This was at the same time as these tubers : dr 763/ flav 912/ pe - 954 /oq - 887
Both were on lok, choosing which to mine wasnt easy

Hey Kier, the best berries I have ever seen for Chef's are about to shift off of Rori (Omaum). They have been around for about two weeks now, and they are slightly better than the famed 1000 OQ Oliderfas for Chefs.
As for Flowers, yeah, they dont seem to come into shift that often. Fruits, Greens, Tubers, Cereals.....Starsider has 900+ stat versions of these coming out of our ears. But flowers? meh......
Oh well. Maybe there will be something good that shifted last night........
