Twice now I have been reading the FAQ and the other posts here and found mention of containers not being serial number specific when making a schematic, and also mention of trying to make other components work the same way (i.e. two different runs of soypro to make one run of Ahrisa).
My question is I have about 15 crates of casks with all different serial numbers, leftovers from factory runs, can I make a run of brandy out of these with one schematic?
Thanks,

As long as the casks have the same name (if you left it as just "Cask", not "Cask - Sept 1") you can use them all in a single brandy run.
If you changed the name, the different cask runs may or may not work. When people originally tried using components named "Cask1" and "Cask2" in the same run, it failed, but I'm not sure if people have tried recently.

I will confirm that the name on the item doesn't matter at all. I name all my casks Cask #1, Cask #2 ect. This basically makes it easier for me to pick out 20 at a time since that is usually all I want to load in a factory for brandy.
I have used many different names for schematics though and I have never had a problem with them. I think I used the leftovers from about 13-15 different runs once and there was no issue with this.
