I been checking into doing something different along side of swordsman . I been checking out the different crafting profession's and thought alot on Chef . I'm sure you can make good money if you produce some verry nice food item's that other's are in need of . I can do any of the crafting profession's listed under artisan as well master artisan . I can also do merchant up to where it's needed to have vendor listed .

I have thought of maybe also doing Bio Enginer if i did not do any of those crafting profession's listed under artisan . I know many of these have a good length of grinding to do to reach master . I just wanted to collect some info from other players with there thoughts about going for chef or should change around and do another ?

Thanks for any info posted !

Chef can be a very good money maker, depending on how hard you want to work at it. Making food is a long multi-step process, finding good resources is a quest that never ends, and we are dependent on other professions (bio-engineer and tailor) for subcomponents for our goods. You'll need a good working relationship with at least one of each if you don't take those skills yourself.

Bio-engineer can also be very lucrative. Tissues, especially chef tissues, sell pretty well. They take a huge amount of meat though. If you like to hunt, this profession might be a good fit. And while pets don't sell quite as briskly, the BE's I know think making them is great fun.

As a combat prof(swordsman in my case as well ) I can make 1-1.5 million credits running janta/mokk missions in a buff session. Or I could make 1.5-2.5 million on meat sales(odd situation as I'm basically selling to myself).

A daily profit for my chef I would guess is around the same amount. Its hard to tell. On average about a month ago I would do 3 million in sales. A huge amount of that was the cost of the meat and other resources. So 1-1.5 million I think would be about right. It might be up to 2 depending on what actually sold that day.

The biggest issue with chef is getting all the needed parts. If you don't have the lots to have factories and harvestors, your going to be buying resources. If your not a BE, your probably going to be buying tissues. If you can't get 0010 Tailor, your going to be buying trim. The more you do yourself the more overall profit you make. The hard part is starting up, once you have everything running, everything just comes naturally.

I so far, found a decent turnout on Chef Goods. Granted I am only mass producing Artisan foods now, I do make a decent amount. I must be honest in that I am selling more BE Pets than anything else at the moment, but I think that will change once I can make decent Brandy and Ahrisa.

Already been said, work at it, keep well stocked vendors and yeah you will come out eventually with money. Tho AS still has my vote for the biggest earning.

I would tend to agree. I would also same doctor is a bit easier as well as you only have to worry about 4-6 resources and sell buffs to make a lot of credits. You need to get lucky or have a large bank role to start in both of those though IMO.

If you're going to become a crafter to make alot of money you'll fail. It takes far too muchwork and way too long before you see any money at all. The really rich crafters are that way because it's what they like to do in game.

This question could be asked in any of the (elite) crafter professions and get the same answer:

If you put a lot of work into it, you can make a good bit of money. If you think you can make money hand over fist on the side while you keep up with your combat, think again. I know crafters that spend HOURS every day crafting, starting factory runs, etc., to keep their vendors well stocked.

Being successful depends as much on being well stocked all the time as it does having good quality items. People will be willing to spend more for your stuff when they know they can always just go there and get what they expect to find, rather than wasting time going around to 20 different vendors trying to find one that is stocked.

Also, being any elite crafter, as others have eluded to, is really about having the super resources. To really make money will take a while to collect the resources.
