My one character is Chef/Entertainer but Ive never done much with the Chef part of it apart from the odd thing for friends, however I have been making decorative foods for our Cantina, with fun recipe names etc, and Ive had a fair few requests to make specialities like my Sharnaff Stews and Curried Spat for people. So I've decided to put up a vendor just for decorative foods and drinks, and to take orders for personalised wedding and party food etc.
The thorny question is what is acceptable pricing for these? There's less cost with raw materials, but something like a wedding cake is very fiddly to assemble. If there's anyone with any experience of this kind of thing I'd be very grateful for some advice. Thank you.

I've helped with decorating cantinas with custom drink names for display behind the bar, on tables, and for sale. Yes, you can -- and should -- use the lowest possible materials since it's completely for show, so if you're buying and not collecting it yourself -- an average of 2 cpu for the flora and 6 cpu for meat/hide/bone as needed should be fair. With drinks I also needed to make some small glass runs as well plus alcohol runs. Finally, I needed to spend some manual time naming these different drinks, then making some small runs of each type, showing the wares to the cantina owner, discussion on quantity/price, agreement, production, then delivery. Was actually a nice change of pace, but fairly time consuming all-in-all.
So you could charge on a per cpu basis, butthat involves more thinking and you then also need tocalculate yourtime and factory usage on top of that . Long and short of it, forany drink, I charged a flat rate of 1000 credits which covered all expenses. Mademore profit on some drinks than on others, but be selective in what you're using as your base food. So many items look the same,so choose the easier item to make before you rename it. Customer didn't hesitate at all and bought about 200k worth of drinks for their establishment. So I didn't make a killing on it, but had fun which is what the game is all about.
Hope that helps,

Remember there was once a real Wedding Cake in the game. Thankfully someone sold me one for my museum...I use food and drinks for decoration for my kitchen. I wish all chefs would actually create a kitchen with their vendor, but I guess they prefer just to have some chef vendor in a megamall...
