I'm shopping for BE components and I finally managed to find a vendor selling them... Things seem fishy though.. I could use an explanation I guess... Here's an example...
Broad Spectrum Nutrients - Nutrition bonus + 85, Count 25 = 61000 credits
Correct me if Im wrong but wouldnt this crate which costs 61000 credits only produce ONE final crate of 25 food? Meaning I'd have to buyout the entire vendor stock to really put out a solid run of product, on top of that adding 60K to the cost of all my food would be a drastic increase.. While the resources themselves are not that expensive, the meat can be but the rest arent that bad...
Am I missing something??? Or is this really how it's meant to be... 1 crate of tissues = 1 crate of food? =/
And are these prices accurate?! It's the only vendor I've found selling decent quality tissues.

on Flurry, a crate like that would go for 40k. On top of the meat, you also have to take into account the rediculous factory time
Yes that crate would produce one final crate of food, therefore you would have to take into account that 60k price into your final crate price

Ok thanks...
That's really disturbing if you ask me... I can't do that to my customers.. But I also can't sell a crate of ithorian mist only 1-2K away from a loss =/
hmm....

That's the way the game is; if you want to make quality you have to pay first.
But that's rather expensive, I pay 40k for a 87+.

I found someone to work on a bulkrate with, her prices are very nice too, 10K/15K/25K for light/medium/heavy
and her mediums hit between 80-84

Alot of BE are starting to sell thier Components in runs instead of individual crates. So instead of having to search for enough of a single run to make my food batches...I buy two bags with 20 crates each...they number the bags by the run that made it...so if it was +87 run 2, they label the bag somthing like 20 BSN +87 (002)....I pick up two bags with the same number on them...and I have a full run for my food.
Plus I pay about 600k for abag of +117 heavy additives...thats what...30k per crate for heavies....your getting overcharged by your BE's...
Average prices Ive found from good BE vendors is:
Light
+54-+58) 20k-25k per crate
Medium (+84-+87) 25k-35k per crate
Heavy (+114-+118) 30k-40k per crate.

Those prices for BE additives are extremely low, can't see how the BE is making much of anything selling for that.

30cpu for meat is 15k cost in the tissues. If I could find meat for 30cpu I would be extremely happy. Then of course the BE is still taking a loss on the flora and still not making a profit.
Its perfectly fine if they are happy with the price, I just can't see how they aren't losing credits.

If the mediums are only 80-04, my bet would be they are buying mediocre meat and paying 5-10 cpu rather than 30.

That's fine with me, I'm only 10 point chef right now, I'm not aiming for squeezing every little bit out of the food quite yet.
