I stoped chefing for a bit to work on bio engineer

I figured its a good thing to have maybe the components will help alot.

Well , I exped for about 1 hour and a half to get from Organic chem 1 to organic chem 4+10000 exp. went really fast chems are easy , I had all the resources from chef stocked in my house.

then it took me about 2 hours to get from hutning 3 to hunting 4 doing missions to make money.

I hit bio engineer

Started making something that looked like coffee forgot them name its malcionide or something.

it only took 20 organic15 organic 15 meat.

then I would get 100xp points.

then I could use the component in a chef Soypro and get 150 exp points.

the first level only needed 10k exp.

this took me about 35 mins to get to tissue engineering one.

the next level too 30k exp , well this took me about an hour and half.

in less then one day I was able to advance completly up the medic tree

get hunting tree maxed

and gain 2 levels in biological engineer.

I would easiliy have made 3 but just before Ibought a bum load of meat someone wanted to make a order for 140 Tatoonie sunburns so I decided I would go work on that..

Compare that to Novice Chef which I just completed and which took me 9 days! Granted I try not to grind too much, but I wasnt exactly playing casually either.

That's what the exp was like in beta... all the artisan professions were 10K-14K-18K-22K, but people could powerlevel to master architect in 2 days dedicater play, so using some metrics they'd taken(I very much doubt the results they got for chef) they multiplied the xp requirements... 2.8 for armorsmith, 3.2 for chef and weaponsmith, 4.8 for droid engineer, and 5.5 for architect... or something like that.

The thing is, they nerfed artisan xp, but they left most other crafting branches alone... so as a result smuggler xp, bio-engineer xp and a bunch of others are ridiculously easy in comparison. Chances are that rather than chef xp being reduced, BE xp will get nerfed.

Chef really needs to be removed froma Artisan only class..

if they made it a hybrid between medic/artisan then they could lower its Elite exp..

Because in fact the chef is a suport character not a pure merchant style crafter...

If they reduced the exp for chef to Bio Engineer it would still be slower then bio engineer *food is worth less exp then addditives*

The bio Engineer tree takes alot of exp later but the First few Grinds are really easy that means you can get up to some decent items sooner.

Just for a heads up to those who dont know the skill trees

I thought the level 4 chef skills were around 70,000 XP each?

Seriously, I dont get to play all day, I am currently working towards my Masters of Science degree so only get to play a couple hours a day if that. So in that time I can possibly craft maybe 1k worth of chef XP points before I have to go do a delivery mission, and check on harvestors. If level 1 takes 32000 XP. It will take me almost 32 days to level up once. Plus I don't even want to mention I can make way more food than the economy could ever possibly handle.

Bio-engineers were not adjusted in the final beta exp rebalance because there were not enough of them to gather any stats on how fast they advanced - up until the last stage of beta Bios were gated and could not advance in 3 of the 4 trees. It's far more likely that they'll be adjusted up to match the other crafting professions now that there a a few of them out there..
