Thread: My never-ending quest to NON GRIND and still advance...

But it's tough, obviously, for a Novice Chef.

Thanks to advice here on the forums, I've tried something new. I'm selling those infamous "picnic baskets" for tamed creatures, each has 20 Almost Munchies, and so I get 400 exp per bag. Not only that, but I can make cash too (very needed since I don't do any missions). I charge about 1,900 per basket. 1,500 for the food, and 400 for the pack.

Is that too much? So far I've only gotten about 5 tells in Coronet--the busiest city in the galaxy. 1 person said he was too poor to afford the 1,900 (I think he was a Novice Scout planning ahead), and 1 said it was too expensive. The other 3 bought it immediately though. It's still very slow--I'm only selling 1 bag per maybe every 30-45 mintues of advertising, Since I'll have to sell another 63 packs to get to the next skill box, then that means that I'll have to spend 39 hours shouting! *cough*

So once again, is it too much? Maybe price isn't the problem. I think the problem is, in general, that creature handlers just don't need my food. There's a bug which, when a creature complains that its hungry, the master can just STORE the creature and then immediately CALL it back again and all of its hunger problems are erased. Furthermore, even though the pets don't accept spice or drink (I think), they can still eat foraged foods. Creature Handlers are truly self-sufficient. I'm hoping the nerf in the near-future will help me out.

Eh, I don't know. Any advice for leveling WITHOUT grinding?

pointless

next patch nerfed the creature handler , you wont be seeing them keeping up super pets anymore.

they will just be buying bio engineered pets and sacraficing them to death

sence there is no longer a real need to keep up 3 full grown rancers because once they die there dead now.

anyone anyone who wants to buy a Backpack is a complete newbie

a back pack not on your back takes up 50 invantory spots ..

Almond Chew Munchies?

Why not just make Wistil bread?

20xp per munchie

60 exp per bread

your atempted to "save" you from grinding is making you grind longer.

If you really dont want to grind get some money , buy a factory and put in Schematics sit next to the factory and gain full exp

No offense, but I'm sick of you affluent chefs who keep saying "why not just grind Wastril"...

You forget that it takes 45 resources! I don't have the time or money to get that stuff. Engrave that in your head, please. I'm a pure crafter who does not do any missions. I can't rack up 4k very easily.

Eh, no thanks...I feelthat I havetoo much obligation in a guild, not to mention the fact that I can't even name one guild on Ahazi--I've only seen two or three lol. I'm just trying to play a Chef the way it should be played--without combat or scout skills, without cheap missions...and, well, nothing is wrong with a PA, you're right

I've just never been a PA person.

You're a chef, you have no obligation to a guild except some free food here and there so other members can get their new armor on. Other than that, you can get a lot of freebees/discounts on usefull things. Once they get to fixing the chef profession maybe THEN we can give something back to our guilds (assuming i'm not the only chef in a guild)
