Thread: Pet Food?

Now that the Creature Handler pets finally are going to get their adjustment. It looks like when the dust settles, that food will be more important since thepet will not be insta-healed once they're called back.

So, a good food supply will be more important than it ever was. Since I've never purchased food from a chef before, I have some noob questions....

Can food be stacked? If so, can you sell it that way via merchant?

What would I expect to pay for basic foodstuffs that don't modify stats (or at least minimally modify them)?

I still forage for pet food on occasion, but I'm more than happy to bring you folks my business since I don't want to forage all day long.

Food can't be stacked in higher than 5 or so unless it comes in a factory crate. I've been selling factory crates of 25 servings of wastril bread for 1000 each, a very good price as I was using them to grind exp. Wastril bread is about 50 stamina for 4-5 minutes.

Theoretically I could make artisan foods, like bofa treat, for you for much cheaper. However, that's not getting me any chef experience and factories are currently wastinga lot of resources as they only give you 1 serving per recipe vs. the 3-6 for hand crafted.

Could you please explain this "factory crate" you're talking about? I can craft foods that stack in 7s, but this is using the Food Stations. What are "factory crates", is that something from a Manufacturing Plant (Factory)?

I sell Bofa Treats to Creature Handlers all the time, especially the stacks of 7 since they save space. I'm hoping SWG does increase the need for food. Maybe even increase player stats if they are full of food. Increasing food buff attributes and times would be nice too

You're best bet is the Bofa Treat. Cheap and hordes of people can make it. Not a chef item though so I cry.

Factory crate holds food from a factory. Crate holds 25 servings of food. You unpack it one serving at a time... unpacking needs to be done before you can eat it.

Right now, I'm selling "Picnic Baskets" full of Novice Chef food which are pretty low quality. I could sell Bofa Treats for much cheaper, but that's not getting me any exp. I basically sell about 60 SERVINGS (not ICONS) for 1900, all included in the Picnic Basket I give you. It's 1,500 for the food, 400 for the pack. Without the pack, the weight would be unbearble...

I've calculated how much it costs me to make each food item, and I've made the retail price for each item a bit more than50% higher. This way I'm making afair profit, although I have a feeling I could probably charge 5,000 and still get away with it. Money isn't a problem in this game (since the devs totally ruined the economy).

Food can be stacked higher than 5, but that depends on who crafts it. You cannot stack the food after it is crafter and you can't split it either. Which makes it a bitch to sell mass amounts of food.

"400 for the pack. Without the pack, the weight would be unbearble"

Are these travel packs? Or is there another way of packaging food to sell (other than a factory crate)?

Anyone know if pets can quaff a "drink"? I'm cranking out a lot of drinks for xp, but I haven't tried giving it to CH to feed to their pet.
