Thread: Sir Vimes...will Thunderheart be any better than the other devs...
after seeing a few threads demanding a response, or a bug fix...nothing.
I'm not really seeing how TH is having any real kind of effect, and my guess is that he has no real power much like the CSR's in game...If Thunderheart cannot even dignify us with 5 minutes of his time to give us some kind of response...well, I'm pretty sure more drastic measures are needed.
my suggestion:
write to lucas arts...while they may not necesarily take action, a fair amount of well written complaints about how SOE is handling the SWG may just garner enough attention to get SOE into a position where they will be forced to shape up.
write to the BBB...chef was advertised...key word ADVERTISED as the premier buffing profession in the game, I may not be a lawyer...but if a profession was not at least at one point the best buffing profession in the game...this is most likely a clear cut case of false advertising, and rather than a huge money related lawsuit, perhaps a solution can be reached where SOE takes the route that Squaresoft took when it realized one of its games might be delayed...hired an extra 150 programmers...and got the job done several months early.
sure the dev in charge of chefs may also be in charge of many other professions/other things...but it only takes 5 minutes...maybe even less for a dev...any dev to write a brief message to the chef community.
perhaps even a report in to the BBB about the absolutely horid CS that SOE is providing...ignoring an entire community of players simply because they chose a less popular option is no excuse for not providing those players with the same level of CS as those who chose a more popular option. AOL was forced to upgrade their networks after they advertised that they were new and improved...maybe we can force SOE to fix us through similar means...most likely wouldn't involve legal actions...as I doubt even SOE would want to get beat with a public airing of its exceedingly dirty laundry...
If you or anybody else wants to write to Lucasarts or BBB, be my guest. I am not going to because that is really not my style. I still have hope that we are going to see some improvements very soon, possibly even this month.
As for Thunderheart...please keep in mind I may be a bit biased. I was friends with Thunderheart before he got his current job. I know the guy is honest and is really concerned with keeping his word. He is a very moral person and very sincere in his desire to change things for us, the players.
I think Thunderheart will improve the communication between the developers and the players, which is his job. Will he do a perfect job? No. Will he make mistakes? Yes. Is he pissing me off that he has not acknowledged the buff bug yet? Yes!
But over all, I think he will do a great job.
It would really help us, if we could just get a rough indication of whether it's something that will be fixed quickly and delivered in one of the daily hot-fixes, or whether it's going to be held off til the next "big" patch weeks from now.
My customers are asking me every day, literally every single day, and I have nothing to tell them.
