The discription says, "increses the chance to dodge an attack". Does it mean, this is a bonus to the dodge skill ( like in fencer or pistoleer) oder is it a general plus to evading attacks. I've tested it with tkaand got the impression that the mobs miss a lot more.

General bonus to your overall defense I believe, not just the profession specific evasion skills.

yeah, pikatta pie and air cake i wish the devs would rewrite the description. the word dodge makes a lot of people think it only works for fencers or pistoleers with the dodge skill already, but i like it on all my toons. even my chef eats it, on trips out to the village to convert merchant xp to survey xp, since her HAM is not adjusted well to survive random drive-by attacks on dath.
one of the big-name weaponsmiths on my server is having a huge give-away this saturday. he's a friend of mine but i love to tease him about being a big-name. he asked me to be part of it, so i'm making as much extra food as i can without letting my vendors sell out meantime.
i'm including air cake for the weekend for two reasons: #1 because it's not aparty without cake. #2 because so many people think it doesn't work if you have no dodge skill. one of my favorite combos lately is synthsteak and pikatta pie...all the attacks that miss completely due to the pie don't count as attacks on the steak duration, so it lasts longer than you might think.

What's been said before, there really does need to be a little more education on this. We did some tests with vegepharisine, Pica Thundercloud and this and out of 20 shots 2 hits. Seems to work nicely.
And that was from a rifleman at around 30m, with the guy being a rifleman/tka/fencer.

Is there a rule of thumb for when Pikatta Pie stops being effective? For example it's my understanding that Pikatta Pie is useless against Elders because they never miss. I know it is priceless against Enraged Rancors, but what about higher level MOB's? Is it useful against Juve Krayts? DWB or Geo Cave MOB's?

Usually anything with 100k HAM or more will hit you almost every time with pakitta pie.

ya...i mean...i not too sure if u askin jedi speciafically or any profession in general...but to me piketa only works effectively for me no matter what i fight if they are blind and i have a center macroon.
On my jedi i don't worry about it cuz i don't fight those big things...
when i fight elders it seems to make some difference, but not against krayts n stuff

Good stats for Pikatta would be at least 50% and 20+ minute duration (fill usually takes care of itself unless you're trying to get it down to 25).
My most recent batch was 55% around 22 minutes and 28 fill and it flies out the door at 200k/crate on Kettemoor.

My last batch was 51% for 24m45s I think. Sold all 40 cratesfrom a full run in less than 3 days, at 175k per crate.
I think I need to put my prices up a little or I'll end up making Pikatta full-time and not have time left for anything else....

+55/21:36. I cant keep it in stock at 250k. Sells like mad. Did a full run on Thursday, already doing another today.
Keep in mind though that pricing and stats comparison cross server can be a bit touchy. I would think that anything over +50 would sell great. The better duration is nice as well. Another option would be to talk up aircake to your customers as a substiture when you are out of Pikatta. For defense stackers who already have a good deal of dodge, they wont notice a huge difference with the extra 20 points or so. Problem is that most customers are simply not that knowledgeable about food, so you have to help them out, and ask what it is that THEY are looking for.
