I am making another post just because I want to stress this.

The main reason why I became a chef was to own a cantina. That is my personal goal in this game.

Right now, on the test center, only Master Musicians and Master Dancers can place player owned cantinas. When I saw this I was very upset, so I went to the developers. The Chef developer told me that yes, chefs will be able to place cantinas. They will be able to do it very soon on the test servers.

So, again, before anybody panics, when player cities go live Master Dancers, Master Musicians and Master Chefs will all be able to place player owned cantinas.

While this adds something for me to anticipate [being an aspiring chef, on hold till food is really fixed], one problem Sir Vimes:

Will there be any players left to act as our patrons?

ya I left chef last weekend. I grinded all that (not macroed) and then they bug our buffs.

Crap?! Only MASTER chefs?! I don't wan to be a MASTER chef.....I hate making FOOD. Its the DRINKS I'm after..hrmm...I'll need a master musician to help me...

Can I still be the OWNER of the cantina?

P.S. This is still cool of course, I'm just looking after my interests

u know who came to it?
No one
not even the people in my pa
and i even hired a master musician to play there for a week
after that he left cuz no one came

And don't blame it on advertising.. if u are on Tatooine in the Bestine Area, If u Don't Know Moltar and Shrub Foods.. well.. u are smart to stay away from foods i guess, but at any rate...

I doubt player cantinas will take off

well my cantina was incredibly popular and still is.

and i am over 5k meters south of nym's outpost.

lol of course we get lots of visitors in that area and my guild has about 150 members.

Course I don't have any open lots... ><

*scratches head* some of the player structures do not require lots - like the city hall - I don't suppose this is like that ? *looks hopeful, but doubtful (and that's hard to do)*

I can't say I'd mind giving up my house for it if necessary but it could be a bit difficult to move hehe

yeah...master chefs will be able to place cantina's....just like they were going to fix the food bug on TC, or that we'd get a balance pass...somehow I doubt even a master chef will be able to place a cantina. especially since none of them will even publicly admit that there is a food bug.

yeah and the stat bug never goes live... i lost my faith here

How many master chefs have any lots left?? Between my shop, fusion, harvesters, and 4 factories, I don't have any to spare, that's for sure...

But did they forget about Chefs when designing cantinas?

Or didthey only change it when you brought it up? "Oh crap, it's SirVimes - do anything he says, just get him off our backs!"

Or is it a sick game with the Chef Dev?

Chef Dev: Oh, they want the ability to place cantinas, do they? Well,I can do that, but I'll have to change something else - like making food kill people when they eat it! Ha!

Underling: Um, sir, it already does.

Chef Dev:Ah, that's right, that is our current 'bug'. Let's see, what else can we do... how about, when you eat food, you lose XP! Yes! Let me change a few lines of code... there, take that, chefs! You will pay for flunking me out of culinary school!

Underling: But sir, they had nothing to do with that. They're not even real chefs, it's just an rpg.

Chef Dev: I don't care! All must suffer!
