Thread: Thakitillo Test Results

My main character is a master CM/Doctor I use in PvP. Although deadly, she is a delicate flower and if I ever get any of those TKA cooties on me in a fight, I will be knocked down, dizzy and dead in no time. If I don't get knocked down, with my food and doctor buffs, armor, quick thinking, healsand speedy feet I can usually manage to live long enough for my poisons to incap. So naturally I was thrilled with the idea of Thakitillo.
Now that I have tested it, I have to say IT ROCKS!
I made a +100 Thaktillo and tested it using a character with no combat skills.
--With no Thakitillo, I was knocked down by a master TKA 10/20 times.
--With Thakitillo, I was only knocked down 1/20 times!
WOW!
Okay now here is the bad news. Like Bivoili, Thakitillo quantity defaults to two uses and cannot be experiemented up.Thus it is incredibly expensive. Additionally it take 46 stomach and only has10mins duration. Even putting all experimentation points into stomach and using better decay resistance ingredients I could not get it below 40. And Duration I could not get above 14 minutes. Both these variation cost 25 points of effectiveness, so I decided to just go for power.
I will be making+100 Thakitillo for myself, and using it with Brandy instead of Vagnarian. I will have entertainer buffs to make up for it, but that's a big cost for 10 minutes. So I don't know if I will be able to sell much at the prices I would have to charge for only two uses of something so esoteric in its use.
nice, but you can use canpae too
For HQ, but not cost effective items like this, I only take custom orders from regular or long time customers, and they will know the costs up front.
It is good to have, but not essential. This is strictly a PvP or duel related product and defines the word "optional".
Thanks for sharing this story. I have done similar tests with similar products.

Umm, I make quantity 3 bivoli all day long, so I wouldnt say you cant get more than a stack of two.

First off, you can get stack size above 2 on Bivoli, and at a reasonable cost - I only lose +1 wound tratment to get the charges up to three with my current ingridients. I haven't extensively tested Thakitillo yet (farming wood as we speak though, so I will soon), but I bet if you got good DR on your ingridients getting it up to 3 wouldn't be too painful. In general though, filling and quantity are simply not worth experimenting. That's not something being "broken" about Thakitillo, that's just the nature of the new Chef system. Aside from hitting break points you happen to be close to (like experimenting Brandy from 51 filling down to 50), spend your points elsewhere.
About Thakitillo specifically:
That filling/dration is actually very good compared to the other new high-powered foods. It's both lower filling and higher duration than, say, BoH, and I don't even need to mention Fizz Pudding, do I? There's good reason the market seized on Brandy, a mid-range buff, as our most powerful and popular product... most of the Tier IV/Master level "big" buffs have uniwieldly filling:duration ratios. With the relatively short length of most PvP fights, the duration on Thakitillo seems more than adequate, and the filling isn't objectionable either. You may not be able to keep it up permanently, but barring other foods you could use it for what, 45 minutes? That's pretty long to be in non-stop PvP.
Sales:
With the high popularity of TKAs in PvP right now, I don't think you'll have much trouble selling this stuff at exorbitant prices. Thakitillo is destined to be a low-volume item since it's basically PvP-specific, not because of its high price per use. Stock it at a price you're happy with, and however much sells is how much sells. I wouldn't go making runs of 1000 though.
You may wish to try a compromise. Stick with the Vagnerian for the secondaries, and use Corellian Brandy to handle the knockdown. This can be casked for greater stack size, and with BE enhancement it will surpass plain vanilla thakitillo (but not give the 100 of enhanced).
Try it, you might enjoy. (note: Like Bespin Port there are planetary requirements for the Corellian Brandy, so there may be a large variation in the effect)
